NEHEMIAH MOMENT – (26MAY19) Some of the heads of families
contributed to the work and gave freely to its cause. They were cheerful givers
who gave gold, bowls, garments for the priests, silver, and more. After the
people gave, the priests, musicians, Levites, gatekeepers and others settled in
their own towns.
One thing that we know about God, He does not use coercion
or deceptive practices for us to give. He loves a cheerful giver and we are to
give to the Lord from the bottom of our hearts. He blesses those who freely gives
so that we can be a blessing to others. We may not always receive in the same
manner that we gave, but He no less honors our sacrifice. Something to ponder...
QUESTION OF
THE DAY – (26MAY19) Nehemiah had to delegate duties, so that the city would be
safe and secure with guards, and he charged the musicians, gatekeepers and Levites
with their duties accordingly. Nehemiah did not try to handle everything
himself, but appointed the appropriate people to handle their tasks.
Do you
sometimes have a hard time delegating duties? Do you try to be a superhero and
do everything yourself? The Bible lets us know that even though we are One
Body, we have many parts as the body of Christ. Therefore, we should never try
to be a Jack-of-all-trades, but allow God to master us in the gifts that He has
graced us with. Something to ponder…
