2 CHRONICLES MOMENT – (11MAY19) King Solomon had requested
supplies be given to him in exchange for payment in order to build a
magnificent house for the Lord from the king of Tyre. When he did this, he was
not only making a business transaction between them, but he was a witness to
the king by telling of God’s goodness. Solomon told the king that no matter how
large of a temple he would build, his God was greater than any other gods and
could not be contained. The king of Tyre responded positively and acknowledged
the love that he knew God had for His people.
When we do things for God, we are not only doing those
things to please Him, but we are also being a witness to others concerning Him.
Even with just a small act of kindness, it is a witness about how great the
Lord is. Sometimes we may mistakenly think that we have to do something big and
mighty to tell others about God, but that is not the case. For example, a
little old lady may need her grass cut every now and then. That would be a
great opportunity to show God’s love by doing it for her free of charge. A
young child may need tutoring in math, but the single mother cannot afford it. Offering
your services can show God love in her and the child’s life. Some people in the
nursing home do not get visitors from their families and they often feel thrown
away. A visit every now and then can make all the difference in the world to
some lonely soul. There are so many ways that we can show God’s love to others
in the smallest of ways that are counted as great in Heaven. Something to
ponder…
QUESTION OF
THE DAY – (11MAY19) After the priests had place the ark inside the Most Holy
Place, the glory of the Lord filled His temple. The glory was so much that the
priests had to halt their service for the time being. Is the glory of the Lord
inside of you? Do you feel His presence on the inside of you? Sometimes, you
may not always feel as if God is there, but He is always with those who love
and serve Him. God does not need an earthly temple to dwell in any longer. Our
bodies are His temple and His Spirit fills all who accepts Christ into their
hearts and welcome Him in. Let’s always be sure that we never do anything to
grieve the Spirit away, but allow Him to overflow from the inside out for
others to see, and experience His presence in their lives as well. Something to
ponder…
