NEHEMIAH MOMENT – (27MAY19) The Israelites, after seventy
years of being in exile, were now ready to embrace the Law of Moses. The men
who had married heathen wives had rid the camp of them and their children. Now,
they were ready to hear what the Lord had to say in the Book of the Law that
had been given to Moses. They gathered together and listened as Ezra read to
them from the Law. Both the Levites and Nehemiah the governor helped to
instruct the people in a manner that they would understand what was written.
Upon hearing what the Law had to say, the people mourned and wept aloud because
they knew how far they had fallen away from the Lord.
America has followed in the same path of Israel of old. God
blessed the first settlers to have found a land where they could have prosperity,
equality, liberty, freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of assembly
and due process of law, although all of these did not come about at the same
time and some were years in the making. Yet, America, despite its not so
perfect history, has enjoyed these blessings that many countries and their
citizens have not. America has been a land flowing with milk and honey. We have
conquered territories and have been privileged to have enjoyed a land free from
other nations overtaking our land. But just as Israel went astray and rebelled
against God, we too have gone astray and become a rebellious nation.
We have done every abominable act that Israel did and more
despite God’s hands having been on this nation. We have entertained false
religions, sacrifices to Molech, set up our high places, had our shrine
prostitutes, taken from the poor, destroyed other nations for greed, defiled
our temple, and so much more. It was only after Israel had become enslaved to Persia
where they were now ready to adhere to the commands of God. Israel was never
independent of a foreign nation every again. Where they once enjoyed
independence, they were now subjects of the King of Persia, and after Persia,
they were subjects of the other kingdoms that rose to power. America is close
to losing its independence as well. One day, the Babylonians will come, and we
will no longer be a sovereign nation. Yet, God is merciful even in His judgments.

QUESTION OF
THE DAY – (27MAY19) Many watchmen are sounding the alarm to let America know that
we are spiritually in trouble. We are just a thread away from being in WW3 and
it has only been God’s grace that has kept us this far. The sad thing is that
so many churches are asleep and are not taking it seriously that we are living
in the last days. They do not see the urgency of helping souls to be saved
despite there being funerals where people are lost every day. Messages are
being regurgitated to the same people weekly, but what about those who are out
in the marketplace just waiting for someone to come to them? There is so much
work that needs to be done, but unfortunately, many within the body of Christ
will not wake up until there is a major shakening within the nation and church itself,
for them to see that God is not playing with us. Something to ponder…
NEHEMIAH
MOMENT – (27MAY19) The Israelites gathered together wearing sackcloth and
ashes. They also fasted and confessed their sins of both themselves and their
ancestors. The Levites led them in prayer and confession to the Lord. Within
their prayer, they acknowledge all that the Lord had done for them from the
time they left Egypt till their present day. They confessed where they went
wrong time and time again by rebelling against the Lord. They repented for
their sins of being a stiff-necked rebellious people and signed an agreement
that they would be true to the Lord.
Many people
know about prayer, but they do not understand the elements of prayer. They think
that it only consists of acknowledging God and thanking Him for their blessings,
but they fail to also know that we are to confess our sins, repent of them, and
ask for God’s forgiveness in that we have no plans to continue walking along
our sinful path. We often have our National Days of Prayer, but there is something
that is wrong when we have them. Just as the Levites, Ezra the priest and Nehemiah
the governor came together to let the people know what their EXACT sins were,
we do not model this during our National Days of Prayer. Therefore, prayer without
confession and repentance is merely words.
We need our
Levites (Evangelicals), Ezra the Priest (Leading Pastor), and Nehemiah the
governor (President and/or governmental officials) to be SPECIFIC with the sins
that this nation has committed against God on public T.V., where the nation as
a whole can hear just as Israel did. The Israelites came together so that they
could hear the Law, understand it, and know how to turn from their
transgressions. How many leaders will read the Bible on national T.V. during
the National Day of Prayer to outline where we have fallen as a nation?
How
many leaders will be specific in showing America where we have gone wrong in our
rebellion against the Lord? How many will draw on the history of where we
started and where we are now as it relates to the blessings of God and His
judgments on our land? How many will tell the nation that unless we confess,
repent, and turn to Jesus Christ as our Lord, Savior, Redeemer, who is the Son
of God, that there will one day be no America?
How many are bold enough to express in front of a national audience that
prayer without repentance will not stop the judgments of God? Unless we have leaders,
who will do what the Levites, Ezra, and Nehemiah did, our national prayers are
useless. We will continue to see sin increase by the day until the Babylonians
come. There are a small number of leaders such as Jonathan Cahn who have done
this at events that he has been invited to, but we need those who have the President’s
ear to let him know that this nation is in trouble, and that we need to REPENT.
Something to ponder…
