Read the Bible in a Year (18MAY19)

2 CHRONICLES MOMENT – (18MAY19) Hezekiah had a lot of work to do to clean up the idolatrous mess that his father had created. There were idols, high places, and altars everywhere throughout the land and inside the Lord’s temple. Hezekiah called the priests and Levites together to have them consecrate themselves as well as the people of Judah, so that they could return to the Lord.

Being a leader for Christ is one of the hardest jobs that a true servant can have. One will oftentimes have to undo some of the damage done by other leaders in order to turn the people’s hearts back to God. Many watchmen are sounding the alarm to let people know that Jesus is coming and to get their houses in order, but just as there were those during Hezekiah’s time who rejected the message that he sent through his carriers, there will be those who reject the true message today. Yet, the call to return to the Lord must still continue until He comes for those who are His. There will be a great end-time harvest, and many who have been getting their ears tickled by the Tickle-Me-Elmo preachers will soon find out that they were being led astray. Those of us who are busy sounding the alarm must not turn them away in arrogance to say, “I told you so,” but we must remain ever so humble to welcome them as the father did in the parable of the Prodigal Son. We have all been defiant at some point in our lives, but Jesus stood there waiting with arms open wide to say, “I Love You.” Something to ponder…

QUESTION OF THE DAY – (18MAY19) When King Ahaz desecrated the Lord’s temple with his idols and turned the people’s hearts away from the Lord, where were the Lord’s priests and Levites? Why did they not instruct the people in the right way to go? Why did they not protect the Lord’s house with their lives by not allowing the king to do as he saw fit with the things of the Lord? Why were they not the ones to call the people to repentance?

We can ask ourselves the same questions today. Why have many of our churches been allowed to desecrate what is holy? Why do we have a nation that has allowed all types of abominations to enter in? Why do we have more ungodly politicians than righteous ones? How is it that we give money to support heretics that are in many of today’s pulpits? Why is it that the church, overall, is more influenced by profound speakers than the TRUE unadulterated Word of God? Why, why, why? It is because we have allowed the spirit of conformity to sneak through the cracks as well as the spirit of compromise to take precedence over the things of God. Many would rather have lights, camera, and action rather than lament for what will soon come to this nation. The church has become a place for prosperity pimps than weeping shepherds. Many think that they can entertain their way to Heaven, while mistakenly pleasuring their way to hell. Time is of the essence and Jesus is soon to return. Will you be ready? Something to ponder…
