1 SAMUEL MOMENT – (27MAR19) Hannah was one of two wives who
found herself to be barren, while her husband’s other wife, Peninnah, had
children and gloated over it. This caused Hannah great grief because she was
not able to give her husband children, and was constantly reminded about it.
Even though Elkanah loved her, he could not fill the emptiness in her heart
that she felt. Only God was able to give her the desire of her heart and the
Lord did exactly that. Are you currently or have you ever had to wait on God to
fulfill a promise while you watch others receive the very blessing that you
have been waiting on? Many people have had such experiences as they waited on
the Lord to fulfill His promises. There is a single person waiting for God to
send him a mate as he watches his friends all get married. There is a couple
who desire to have children as they get invited to baby shower after baby
shower praying desperately for God to bless them as well. There is a person
suffering with cancer just hoping that they will hear the good news that they too
have gone into remission as some of the other victories they know about. There
is a person who has worked hard on the job being passed over for promotion time
and time again just wondering when will it be their turn. Many people are
waiting for the “Hannah barren” moment to be turned into a “Hannah blessing”
season. They must hold on because their season is coming. When God finally
blessed Hannah, she not only was blessed with Samuel, but He blessed her to
have three more sons and two daughters. All the time that she thought that she
had lost, God repaid her with more. Keep the faith! All of God’s promises are
Yes and Amen. Something to ponder…
QUESTION OF THE DAY – (27MAR19) Samuel was a young lad who
had not heard the voice of the Lord before. When God first called to him, he
did not know God’s voice. It was not until Eli let him know that God was
calling him that he knew how to answer. Do you know the voice of God? Do you
know when He is calling to you? Many people may miss God because they have not
learned to recognize His voice. There are so many voices out there where it can
be confusing as to who is actually hearing from God. Yet, everyone can hear
from God for themselves if they will get into their quiet time with Him, study,
and seek His face. Although, it is good to hear from the prophetic voices of
this hour, many people are being led astray by the false ones. One thing you
must ask yourself, “Does it line up with God’s WORD?” regardless of how good it
sounds, if it does not line up with the Word of God, then that is not God
speaking. You must learn to know the voice of God for YOURSELF. Something to
ponder…
1 SAMUEL MOMENT – (27MAR19) The Bible calls Eli’s sons SCOUNDRELS.
This can be considered as harsh language, but the Bible is clear as to how God
felt about Eli’s two sons. During Moses’ day, God established rules as to how His
priests were to behave, interact with the people, and what they would receive
from Him because they were not to have an inheritance. Yet, Eli’s sons did not
obey the Lord, and Eli did not do what he was supposed to do as the High Priest
to correct things. Although the Bible mentions him rebuking them one time, it
was Eli’s responsibility to remove them from their positions when he saw that
they were mishandling the things of the Lord. Therefore, God placed a curse on
Eli’s entire household and descendants. None of them would live past their
prime and they would be poor and desolate. Eli’s sons were going to be killed
on the same day and God sent a word through one of His servants, and to Samuel to
reaffirm that what He said would be done. There are many “scoundrels” in today’s
churches, on television, and social media. Just as Eli’s sons, they corrupt God’s
offerings, sleep with the sheep, ignore correction, and have a total disregard
for the Lord. Those who see such things and do not bring rebuke are just as
guilty as the ones doing the sin just like Eli was. They are enablers who
enable the sin to take place, by not bringing the leader into accountability. Many
do not want to bring the leader into accountability because they are living a
compromised life themselves. Therefore, each one is scratching the other’s back
in their pool of debauchery. Judgment, however, begins at the house of God and
all that is not right in the body of Christ will be cleansed and thrown out.
Jesus wants a bride that is without spot or wrinkle. Anyone who does not line
up with His commands will be spewed out of His mouth. Something to ponder…
