JOSHUA MOMENT – (14MAR19) During the leadership of Joshua,
God had given him many victories over the Children of Israel’s enemies. Joshua
had been a faithful and obedient servant to God. The Lord blessed him because
of his obedience, and He also gave Caleb the inheritance that was promised to
him, during the leadership of Moses, because of his faithfulness. Caleb did not
receive it for forty-five years, but the Lord had not forgotten His promise and
did indeed fulfill the oath that He made to him. Sometimes, we can get
discouraged when we have to wait years for promises that God made in our lives.
Year after year goes by and yet, nothing may seem to ever come to fruition.
Despite the time that goes by, God is a God of His word and it will never
return to Him void. He never issues a check that will bounce. He does not make
a deposit into a pocket of holes. One can rest assure that if God makes a
promise in your life, He would cease to be God if He broke it for any reason.
Therefore, we can always trust and believe that whatever God says He will do
and whatever He promises, He will never forget. Something to ponder…
QUESTION OF THE DAY – (14MAR19) God told the Israelites
during the time of Moses that He was not going to allow them to capture all the
lands at once so that the beast of the field would not take over. Their
victories were progressive, but the Lord kept His word in giving them their
inheritance. Have you ever wanted the blessings of God to come all at once? Did
you feel that your timing was better than God’s timing as to when you would
receive certain blessings? One thing we must be mindful of is that we do not
know the future. Therefore, God times things according to what He sees and not
us. If God had allowed the Children of Israel to capture all their territories
at once, they would have had to fight both humans and beasts. Therefore, His
timing was perfect, and it is still perfect for us today. Something to ponder…
JOSHUA MOMENT – (14MAR19) The Lord gave the Israelite territory
after territory as part of the inheritance that He promised to their ancestors.
Some may wonder why God allowed the Children of Israel to take land from other
nations, but one must remember that the whole earth belongs to the Lord.
Therefore, He can place and/or remove anyone He pleases from His land. This
land that we live in is not ours, but it belongs to the Lord. We as humans
sometimes forget that we are the creators of nothing, but it is the Lord who
created this planet and it is He who made the land, oceans, and seas. God is
the One who keeps the sun, moon and stars in the sky and only He is the One who
allows the land and water to be separated. We are only earth’s inhabitants for
the time being. Therefore, when God decides that He wants His children to take
possession of something, no one can make a claim to it and overrule His
authority. God will bless you with things that you did not work for, give you
status that you did not earn, grant you promotions when you were at the bottom
of the pool, and elevate you for Kingdom work when others would have overlooked
you. God is in control and what He deems is for you is for YOU. Something to
ponder…
