JUDGES MOMENT – (24MAR19) Samson was a man who had been
appointed from birth to be a Nazarite and do a special work for God. His hair
was the source of his great strength given through the Spirit of the Lord. Yet,
Samson allowed his weakness for women to cause him to sell his birthright in a
similar sense as Esau had. He did not find the things of God worth protecting
and took for granted the gift that had been bestowed upon him. So when he fell
in love with Delilah, he forgot about the mantle that was on his life and
allowed the lust of the flesh to cause him to sin. Delilah caused him to lose
his crown (hair) that set him apart from other men, to lose his anointing
(Spirit of God), to lose his eyesight spiritually and then in the natural, to
lose his freedom and become a prisoner to man and sin, and ultimately to lose his
life. A man with so much promise lost it all over a woman. Many people today
are losing their souls over “Delilahs.” Delilah is not just a woman, but she is
a spirit that comes in many forms. She can be the seductress who causes you to
commit adultery. She can be the listener who causes you to have an emotional
affair. She can be the job who takes you away from God. She can be your ego
that inflates herself to prevent you from having humility. She can be the
grudge that you seem to never let go of. She can be the gossip that appeases your
ears. She can be the unforgiving spirit that has taken residence in your heart.
She can be the compromise that stands in the way of truth. She can be whatever
god that hinders your relationship with the Lord. Delilah comes in many forms,
but one taste of her can lead you to a spiritual death. Stay away from Delilah
because she will keep trying to take your strength and should you give in to
her charm, you will find yourself spiritually blind, enslaved to sin, and
possibly lost for all eternity. Something to ponder…
QUESTION OF THE DAY – (24MAR19) Micah was a man who had a
shrine for his gods. He invited a Levite to stay at his home and to be his
personal priest. When the Danites came, however, they offered more to the
Levite, so he went with the highest bidder. Instead of being a priest for the
Lord, this Levite was a priest for hire. How many pastors are priests for hire?
How many are only in the ministry for the money, fame, and prestige they
receive? Many people are going to find out who the real men and women of God
are when judgments rain down and the funds dry up. A real leader of God will
stick things out through thick and thin, but the frauds will forsake their
people at the first sign of trouble and go to the highest bidder. Do not allow
the frauds make you take the mark of the beast, compromise God’s word, and turn
away from Him. Many are going to deceive the masses, but those who stay true to
studying the Word of God for themselves will not be deceived. Something to
ponder…
