Read the Bible in a Year (22JUN19)

PSALMS MOMENT – (22JUN19) Recently, there was an article in the headlines with the famous popstar, Madonna, claiming that Jesus supports abortion. Anyone who would dare to make such a blasphemous claim does not know who Jesus really is. The psalmist wrote about such people in a message given to him from the Lord. “But to the wicked person, God says, ‘What right have you to recite my laws or take my covenant on your lips? You hate my instruction and cast my words behind you’ ” (Psalm 50:16-17). God was angry at wicked people who would dare to take His laws and speak them for their convenience but have no respect to do as His word said. They twist the words of God to benefit their own agenda and pass it off as a “thus saith the Lord.”  We must be careful of those who would use Jesus to support their wicked ambitions.

It is vital that Christians know the Word of God for themselves. There are many deceivers in the world and it is not only those who we know to be immoral such as many famous people, but it is those who are in the church that are preaching, teaching, prophesying, healing, and laying hands on people. Too many of God’s people are gullible in this final hour, but it is not too late to turn around if you have breath. Those who read and study the Word of God will have a quickening in their spirit to know when something is off about a certain teaching coming from man. Christians need to know how to read the Word for themselves, so that they can defend the Word when false teachers are leading people astray. This is not to say that there will not be difference on minor issues such as should a woman wear pants or not, but the major things that can cause someone to lose out on eternity. We as Christians must never compromise what we know to be true for what is popular or considered politically correct. The Word of God has given us our instructions for righteous living and all else is from the father of lies. Something to ponder….

QUESTION OF THE DAY – (22JUN19) Some self-professed Christians are teaching people that they can be reincarnated and will get a second chance at life to make things right. This is erroneous teaching and not supported biblically. The psalmist wrote, “They will join those who have gone before them, who will never again see the light of life” (Psalm 49:19). From this text, we see that once you have lived on this earth, you will never come back this way through means of reincarnation. The Apostle Paul wrote about man’s appointed time to die as it related to Jesus return. The Bible says, Just as man is appointed to die once, and after that to face judgment, so also Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who eagerly await Him” (Hebrews 9:27-28). The Bible lets us know that we will never have to come this way again to go through any of life’s trials. Similarly, Jesus came once as a baby to save man from his sins, but the next time He comes, He will be coming with a scepter in His hands to give due rewards rather good or bad. Aren’t you happy that once you leave here, you will get to see Jesus face to face? That is why it is so important that we live the best life that we can as an ambassador for Christ. We will never get another chance to have an impact on a lost soul, nor will they have a second opportunity, once they leave this life to redo their works again. The late musical artist, Michael Jackson’s last cd was titled, “This is it!” Well, it was for him and so it shall be for anyone who is here now. This is it! After which, there is the judgment. Will you face Christ at the Bema Seat to get your rewards, or will you face the Father to be thrown into the lake of fire? This is the question that everyone must ask themselves, but for those who are saved, you do not have to worry about the latter. Let’s do what we can to help our friends, neighbors, coworkers, family, and even enemies to make it to the feet of Jesus. Something to ponder….
