Revelation and End Times...Are You Ready?

 

Mathew 28:18-20  Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (NIV)

The book of Revelation...many people fear it.  Many people don't understand it. Not many preachers talk about it. What is in the book of Revelation? Why is it important for us today? Why was it included in the Bible? Is it a book that should be avoided? These are just some of the things that I have heard from people with regards to the book of Revelation. Revelation 1:3 says, "Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near." 

 

On any given day, all you have to do is turn on the news and see prophecy being fulfilled. The disciples asked Jesus a question of how they would know when the time of the end was near. Here is what Jesus said: 
1.) Many will come in My name...and will deceive many.

2.) Nations will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.

3.) There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.

4.) ...you will be persecuted and put to death... Mathews 24:9
5.) ...many will turn away from the faith... Mathews 24:10
6.) ...many false prophets will appear...Mathews 24:ll

These are just a few of the prophecies that Jesus told the disciples while He was here on earth. We see these events happening every day on the news alone. So, why aren't more preachers talking about Jesus' return? On any given Sunday, you are more likely to hear about prosperity, money, and getting a new house than to hear about Jesus coming back. I guess many suppose people already know. However, is that really safe to assume? That ideology was not written in the book of Revelation.

1. information revealed: information that is newly disclosed, especially surprising, or valuable
2. surprising thing: a surprisingly good or valuable experience
3. disclosure: the revealing of something previously hidden or secret                                                                                             
   

 This term does not mean to "keep" it in secret. It means that this is something you are suppose to know. The book of Revelation tell us that we are in the last days. There's no question about it. We must stop being a church who is afraid to warn people that the END is NEAR, but first, we have to understand ourselves. God is not playing with us Church. This is why the bible says that judgment will begin with the house of God. (I Peter 4:17) People, if you are not being taught about the book of Revelation or end-time prophecies, you must try to study for yourselves. Yes, we all want nice things and to feel good when we go to church. However, "Hell" is real!!! People need to be saved. People need to be warned about what's coming. 

There is already an open attack on Christianity. There are even preachers who are going along with Islam, homosexual marriages, and "Go along to get along" theology. Let's not even mention the reality TV show where preachers are making a total mockery of the Gospel. WAKE UP CHURCH! This is wrong! Jesus said that He Is the Way! He is the ONLY way! Start Studying! Don't wait on the minster and even if he/she is preaching this message, you still need to study for yourself. We have a work to do. Jesus is coming soon! Start reading and studying God's word. Let it be a "revelation" to you.
