Crabs in a Bucket!

Crabs in a Bucket
1 Timothy 3:1-5  But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—Showing a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. (NIV)

It is very interesting to read about different living species. One of them, which I was reading about the other day, was the crab. The article said that when you place one crab in a lidless bucket, it is surely able to crawl out. There is nothing inside holding it back. However, when you have a bucket of them, and they see one that's able to get out, instead of leaving it alone to gain it's freedom, they will grab it and pull it back down to suffer the fate which they all will be succumb to. Some people are a lot like crabs.

They can see potential in a person, but rather than celebrate that individual, they will try to pull that person down by way of negativity and polluted doubts. You will hear them say things like: I don't know if you should do that, it may not work. Did you really hear from God? What if it doesn't work and you fail? I know other people who tried it and it didn't work for them. You are too old to try at that now. You're not as good as someone else. You couldn't have heard from God because your success didn't happen right away. Yea, you can try it, but.... The list goes on and on. If you allow it, the negativity from others will replay in your mind like a scratched CD...running over and over and over again. Doubt will begin to fester. Fear will arise. Before you know it, you will have let the negativity of others keep you from pursuing the goal that God has placed inside of you.

However, I don't know who this is for, but let me just say this, you MUST guard your ear gates. You must keep negative people and their talk out of your head. It's okay to take good advice, but allow God to direct your path. If God gives you the green light on something, don't change it to red just because of someone else's incapacity to see your God-given vision. It may have indeed failed for someone else. However, it doesn't mean that it is going to fail for YOU. Even if it did fail the first, second, or third try, most successful people had numerous rejections and failures prior to their success.

God asked Abraham was there anything too hard for Him. God does the impossible. God sees the invisible. God produces a harvest in a desert. God opens closed wombs. God specializes in raising dead bones. With God, all things are possible. Matthew 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." (NIV) You must ask God what plans He has for YOUR life. You may indeed not see immediate results, but let me tell you, God works immediately even when we can't see instant results. Have faith in God to do whatever He has placed in you and let the crabs stay in the bucket. Those same crabs will be crawling to the table that He prepares for you in front of them.
