2 Samuel 6:14 And David was dancing before the LORD with all his might,
and David was wearing a linen ephod. (NIV)
The ark where the Lord resided had been in captivity. The Philistines had defeated the Israelites and had taken the ark to one of their gods' temples. While being there, their idols were broken and disease afflicted the people. In fear of what was happening, the Philistines made arrangements to have the ark sent back to the Israelites. David was finally bringing the ark home. He was so happy to be in the presence of God that He began to dance. Not only did he dance, he danced with everything that was in him. He wasn't worried about who saw him or what he may have looked like. He was just happy to praise and worship his Almighty God.

How many of us will give God an undignified praise where we're not worried about what others may say. Every week, there are people dancing on the popular TV show, "So You Think You Can Dance?" They perform in front of judges who decide if they want to send them to the next level, being another week on the show. The dancers give everything they got in order to have acceptance and move on to the next level.
What is your praise before God looking like? Is the only time He receives any praise is while you're at church? Does the extent of your worship end once you leave the parking lot right after service. Does God not get anything else out of you till that once or twice a week you're in your church's seat? What is wrong when we can't take the time to spend before God prior to entering the building? It is a heart condition.
We have to have a heart of praise. We have to have a desire to come before God and worship Him just because of Who he is. We are the ark where God resides. Yes, God has many physical locations, but He is not coming back for church campuses. He is coming back for you and me. We are His ark. We are His temple. We should praise God daily for all He's done. It doesn't mean that you have to dance out of your clothes like David did. However, our worship should be of such high magnitude that we can't keep it inside for just weekly services. It should be boiling over into our homes, jobs, and other areas in our lives. David was a man after God's own heart. Let's give God our hearts and dance in His presence.
