NEXT DAY REMINDER – Tomorrow, December 28’s Bible reading is Revelation 9-12. May God bless you with the reading of His WORD.
Today's Lesson is Bible Lesson 4 from the series "Revelation: Removing the Prophetic Veil" by K L Rich on Amazon.com.
Introduction to REVELATION
John was given a vision into Heaven and witnessed the honor and praise given to the One that was slain. There was and still is no one worthy of such praise other than Jesus, for He took on the form of a servant to be elevated by God the Father as KING of Kings and LORD of Lords. All Heaven above and earth below will confess before God that Jesus is LORD. In Revelation 4, John gave an in-depth description about the throne room of God, four living creatures, twenty-four elders, and the Lamb that was slain. Blessed are all who read and understand the words of this book. Let’s unveil another portion of John’s vision for the Body of Christ.
Quick
Review from Lesson 2
a.) The Church of
Ephesus had lost their first love. God told them to renew their first works
over and repent before their lampstand be removed.
b.) The Church of Smyrna was told that
they were rich even though they were poor. They were to remain faithful even
during persecution and would receive a crown in Heaven.
c.) The Church of Pergamum was
rebuked for holding on to the teachings of Balaam and of the Nicolaitans. God
told them to repent, or He would come against them with the sword of His mouth.
d.) The Church of Thyatira was rebuked for
tolerating the teachings of Jezebel. God warned that He would repay them
according to their deeds if they did not turn away from her wicked teachings.
e.) The Church of Sardis was rebuked for
being dead even while having a reputation of being alive. God told them to
repent for He would come like a thief and they would not be ready.
f.) The Church of Philadelphia
was commended for enduring even while they were weak. God promised to keep them
from the hour of persecution.
g.) The
Church of Laodicea was rebuked for being in a lukewarm state. God warned
them of their arrogance of being self-sufficient and was told to repent of
their ways.
The Throne in Heaven
Acts 7:49 Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. Could you build me
a temple as good as that?' asks the LORD. 'Could you build me such a resting
place? (NLT)
John was about to witness many spectacular
wonders in Heaven. These extraordinary sights consisted of
seeing heavenly beings that he had never seen before and more. God had John to
write down all that he had seen, so that the church of the end times would be
prepared for the events that would take place prior to Jesus’ return. First,
John would see the awesomeness of God’s surroundings and those who worshipped
Him constantly around the throne. He would also understand the worthiness of
the Lamb that was slain to open seals that no other person could open and to
stand witness to the glory of the Lord.
Invitation to
Come
Revelation 4:1-2 After this
I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven. And the voice
I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, “Come up here, and I will
show you what must take place after this.” (2)At once I was in the
Spirit, and there before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it. (NIV)
John was invited to enter through a door into Heaven. No one
can enter in unless the invitation is given. John had to have a relationship
with Jesus first; otherwise, the invitation would not have been given. John 10:9 I am the
gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out,
and find pasture. (NIV) The invitation was clear and given by
the same voice who had spoken to him earlier, but this time sounded like a
trumpet. 1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself
will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the
archangel and with the trumpet call of God…(NIV) John had been given a message for the seven
churches of Asia Minor during his period first, but now he was to be told what would take
place in the future. The Spirit of God once again came over him, and he saw
someone sitting on a great throne.
Revelation 4:3-4 And the one who sat there had the appearance
of jasper and ruby. A rainbow that shone like an emerald encircled the throne. (4)Surrounding
the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and seated on them were twenty-four
elders. They were dressed in white and had crowns of gold on their heads. (NIV)
The One sitting on the throne was none other than
God himself. He had the appearance of jasper and ruby.
You can tell that precious stones were of significance to
God during Moses time because God instructed the Priests
to have them on their breastplate. Exodus
28:20 The fourth
row shall be topaz, onyx and jasper.
(NIV) Jasper was also
part of the adornment for Lucifer prior to His fall.
Ezekiel 28:13-14 You were in Eden, the garden of God; every
precious stone adorned you: carnelian,
chrysolite and
emerald, topaz, onyx and jasper, lapis
lazuli, turquoise
and beryl. Your settings and mountings
were made of
gold; on the day you were created they
were prepared.
(NIV) We see that God
loves beauty. After all, He is the
one who created everything that is good.
John goes on
to describe a rainbow that looked like
an emerald around God’s throne.
God used the rainbow as
a sign to Noah that He would
never bring a flood to destroy
the world again. Genesis 9:15-17 I will remember my
covenant
between me and you and all living creatures of
every kind.
Never again will the waters become a flood to
destroy all
life. (16)Whenever the rainbow appears in the
clouds, I will
see it and remember the everlasting
covenant
between God and all living creatures of every
kind on the
earth.” (17)So God said to Noah, “This is the
sign of the
covenant I have established between me and
all life on
the earth.” (NIV) There
is no other covenant to
be made by anyone higher than
God. This rainbow not only
signifies covenant, but it is a
sign of God himself. Ezekiel
also described the appearance
around God as that of a
rainbow. Ezekiel 1:28 Like the appearance of a
rainbow
in the clouds
on a rainy day, so was the radiance around
him. This was
the appearance of the likeness of the glory
of the Lord.
When I saw it, I fell facedown, and I heard
the voice of
one speaking. (NIV)
Around God’s
throne were twenty-four elders sitting on twenty-four thrones. These
twenty-four elders represent the body of Christ who will judge the world in the
end. Matthew
19:28 Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, at the renewal of all things, when
the Son of Man sits on his glorious throne, you who have followed me will also
sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. (NIV) There were twelve disciples following Jesus
at the time, but the Bible says that Judas betrayed Jesus and later killed
himself; therefore, he could not be counted as part of the twelve if this was a
literal translation. However, this number is symbolic of those saints who make
it in the end and will judge the entire world. 1 Corinthians 6:2 Or do you not know that the
Lord's people will judge the world? And if you are to
judge the
world, are you not competent to judge trivial
cases? (NIV)
These elders
were dressed in white robes with
crowns of gold. As we studied
in the first lesson, white
represents the purity and
righteousness of God. There can
be no sin in the presence of a
Holy God. He represents all
that is pure. Isaiah 61:10 I delight greatly in the
LORD;
my soul
rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with
garments of
salvation and arrayed me in a robe of his
righteousness,
as a bridegroom adorns his head like a
priest, and as
a bride adorns herself with her jewels. (NIV) We are told in the Bible that we will be
given crowns as rewards in Heaven. The crowns that John saw that were worn by
the twenty-four elders represent the rewards given to the Body of Christ who
endure to the end. 2 Timothy 4:8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the
Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day--and not only to me,
but also to all who have longed for his appearing. (NIV)
Revelation 4:5 From the throne came flashes of
lightning, rumblings and peals
of thunder. In front of the
throne, seven lamps were
blazing. These are the seven
spirits of God. (NIV)
John describes
the flashes of lightning and sounds
of thunder that came from the throne
of God. This is
likened to the return of Jesus
when He comes back the
second time to take His
children home. Matthew 2:27 For
as lightning
that comes for the east is visible even in the
west, so will
be the coming of the Son of Man. (NIV) The
Prophet Samuel’s mother,
Hannah, spoke of the thunder of
God coming from Heaven to
render judgment upon the
earth. 1 Samuel 2:10 Those who oppose the Lord
will be
broken. The
Most High will thunder from heaven; the
Lord will
judge the ends of the earth. “He will give
strength to
his king and exalt the horn of his anointed.”
(NIV) These are signs of the power of God when He
comes
back in all His glory and the
judgment that will be upon the
face of the earth.
In front of
the throne were seven lamps that
represents the seven spirits of
God. In the first lesson, we
broke down what the seven
spirits represent. Let’s go back
over them as a reminder. The
seven spirits found in this text
represent those found in the
book of Isaiah. Isaiah 11:2
The Spirit of
the Lord will rest on him—the Spirit of
wisdom and of
understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of
power, the
Spirit of knowledge, and the fear of the Lord—
and he will
delight in the fear of the Lord. (NIV)
The Seven Spirits
a.) Spirit of Rest – John 16:7 But I tell you the truth: It
is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not
come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. (NIV)
b.) Spirit of Wisdom – Ephesians 1:17 I keep asking that the God
of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of
wisdom and revelation. (NIV)
c.) Spirit of Understanding – John 14:26 But the Advocate, the Holy
Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and
will remind you of everything I have said to you. (NIV)
d.) Spirit of Counsel – John 16:8-11 When he (Holy Spirit)
comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness
and judgment: (9) about sin, because people do not believe in me; (10)about
righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no
longer; (11)and about judgment, because the prince of this world now
stands condemned. (NIV)
e.) Spirit of Power – Acts 1:8 But you will receive power
when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem,
and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (NIV)
f.) Spirit of Knowledge – 1 Corinthians 12:8 To one there is given
through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means
of the same Spirit. (NIV)
g.) Spirit of Fear (Reverence)
– 2 Timothy
1:7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power,
love and self-discipline. (NIV)
Revelation 4:6-7 Also in front of the throne there was
what looked like a sea of
glass, clear as crystal. In the
center, around the throne, were
four living creatures, and
they were covered with eyes, in
front and in back. The
first living creature was like
a lion, the second was like an
ox, the third had a face like a
man, the fourth was like a
flying eagle. (NIV)
John described
what looked like to him, a sea of
glass, in front of God’s
throne. In Moses’ time, the priests
were to have a basin made from
bronze glass to wash prior
to entering the sanctuary. Exodus 38:8 They made the
bronze basin
and its bronze stand from the mirrors of the
women who
served at the entrance to the tent of meeting.
(NIV) No one was to come into God’s sanctuary any
kind
of way. This sea of glass as
described by John takes on the
same meaning as there must be a
purity prior to going
before the throne of our Holy
God and entering His
presence.
The four
living creatures that John saw are also
similar to the description that
the Prophet Ezekiel had given
during his vision. Ezekiel 1:10-11 Their faces looked
like this:
Each of the four had the face of a human being,
and on the
right side each had the face of a lion, and on
the left the
face of an ox; each also had the face of an
eagle. Such
were their faces. They each had two wings
spreading out
upward, each wing touching that of the
creature on
either side; and each had two other wings
covering its
body. (NIV) These
creatures represent Jesus in
all His completeness. Let’s
take a look at each
characteristic that each one
possesses and discover its
meaning.
Face of a Lion
The lion is called the “king of
the jungle.” He is
known for his beautiful
features and strength. A lion has
very good eyesight and can hear
a prey up to a mile away.
He represents great power and
authority over all beast.
Jesus came to earth and
overcame the world. He was given
all authority and power from
God the Father. When Jesus
first came to earth, He came as
a humble Lamb. Upon His
return, He will come as the
Lion of Judah. Philippians 2:9-11 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and
gave him the name that is above every name, (10)that at the name of
Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, (11)and
every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the
Father. (NIV)
The Face of an Ox
The ox is an
animal that has been used over the
centuries with helping the
farmer to produce crop. The ox
takes the form of a servant
animal to do the will of its
master. Male oxen are often
castrated to make them easier
to control. They are sometimes
yoked in pairs to do larger
jobs. Jesus became like an ox
when he was sent to earth to
do the will of the Father. He
was subservient to Him even
unto death displaying the kind
of dedication that we all are
to have unto God. On the cross,
He felt cutoff from God and yet submitted to the will of the Father. Philippians 2:6-8 Who, being in very nature
God did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own
advantage; (7)rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature
of a servant, being made in human likeness. (8)And being found in
appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even
death on a cross! (NIV)
Face of a Human Being
Adam was the
first man on earth that God created.
God wanted to be in a special
relationship with His children
whom He adored. Unfortunately,
the devil was successful
in tempting Eve, in the Garden
of Eden, where she and
Adam had been forbidden to eat
from just one tree. This act
of disobedience caused the
whole human race to suffer.
However, due to the fall of
man, God devised a plan of
Salvation for the whole human
race. That plan consisted of
sending His son, Jesus, to come
to earth in human form in
order to save mankind from sin.
He would leave his
Heavenly place and be planted
inside of a young maiden
name Mary, who would be the
earthly mother to the Savior
of the World. Luke 1:35 The angel answered,
"The Holy
Spirit will
come on you, and the power of the Most High
will
overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be
called the Son
of God.” (NIV)
Face of an Eagle
The eagle is a
fearless animal just like the lion.
Eagles have great vision and
are very persistent. They
never give up, but rise above
their challenges. They are not
scavengers, so they only eat
what they catch. Eagles are
very attentive to their young
and known for their swiftness.
Just as the eagle, Jesus is
fearless in his pursuit of His
children. He never leaves us to
fend for ourselves, but is
there to guild us every step of
the way. He helps us to rise
above the challenges of life
and gives us fresh manna,
which is His Holy Word. He sees
all for His eyes scans the
earth both day and night and
all power is in His hands.
Colossians
1:15-20 The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all
creation. (16)For in him all things were created: things in heaven
and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or
authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. (17)He
is before all things, and in him all things
hold together. (18)And he is the head of the body, the church; he is
the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he
might have the supremacy. (19)For God was pleased to have all his
fullness dwell
in him, (20)and through him to reconcile to
himself all
things, whether things on earth or things in
heaven, by
making peace through his blood, shed on the
cross. (NIV)
Revelation 4:8-11 Each of the four living creatures
had six wings and was covered
with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop
saying: “‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty,’ who was, and is, and is
to come.” (9)Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and
thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, (10)the
twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him
who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say: (11)“You
are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you
created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.”
(NIV)
Praise and Honor Belongs to
the Lord
Jesus
fulfilled His mission on earth as a humble sacrifice. His mission was fulfilled
when he died upon the cross. God gave Him the authority of King of kings and Lord
of lords. He was the creator of all things. All glory, praise and honor belongs
to Him. Isaiah
40:28-31 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his
understanding no one can fathom. (29)He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak. (30)Even youths grow tired and
weary, and young men stumble and fall; (31)but those who hope in the
Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will
run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. (NIV)
Revelation 5:1-4 Then I saw in the right hand of him
who sat on the throne a scroll
with writing saw a mighty
angel proclaiming in a loud
voice, “Who is worthy to
break the seals and open the
scroll?” (3)But no one in
heaven or on earth or under the
earth could open the
scroll or even look inside it. (4)I
wept and wept because no
one was found who was worthy to
open the scroll or look
inside. (NIV)
The Scroll and the Lamb of
God
John saw a
scroll that was held in God’s right hand.
There was writing on both sides
of this scroll and it was
secured with seven seals.
Whatever God writes, it is
something of importance and
with great detail. We can see
this illustrated in the events
that took place with Moses
when he had received the Ten Commandments
from God
that were written with His own
finger. Exodus
31:18 When
the LORD
finished speaking to Moses on Mount Sinai, he
gave him the
two tablets of the covenant law, the tablets of
stone
inscribed by the finger of God. (NIV) The number seven, which was the amount of seals that were on the
scroll, represents completeness. In the beginning, God created the whole world
within a matter of six days according to the account in Genesis. On the seventh day, He rested and all the work
that He had done was made complete. Genesis 2:1-3 Thus the heavens and the
earth
were completed
in all their vast array. (2)By the seventh day God had finished the
work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. (3)Then
God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all
the work of creating that he had done. (NIV)
An angel made
a cry out for someone who would be
worthy to break open the seals
on the scroll. However,
there was no one found worthy
to open the seals in Heaven
nor on the earth. John wept
because of this. This lets us
know that even in all the
“good” that we think we do, we
are not worthy within
ourselves. We are only found worthy
of anything through the Blood
of the Lamb. If it had not
been for Jesus coming to die
for our sins, we would have
been eternally lost. Isaiah 64:6-8 All of us have become
like one who
is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up
like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away. (7)No one
calls on your name or strives to lay hold of you; for you have hidden your face
from us and have given us over to our sins. (8)Yet you, Lord, are
our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your
hand. (NIV)
Revelation 5:5-7 Then one of the elders said to me,
“Do not weep! See, the Lion of
the tribe of Judah, the
Root of David, has triumphed.
He is able to open the
scroll and its seven seals.” (6)Then
I saw a Lamb, looking
as if it had been slain,
standing at the center of the
throne, encircled by the four
living creatures and the
elders. The Lamb had seven
horns and seven eyes, which
are the seven spirits of God
sent out into all the earth.
(7)He went and took the scroll from the right
hand of him
who sat on the throne. (NIV)
The Lion of Judah
John was told
not to weep. This showed his sincere
heartbreak over the things of
God, but comfort was given
because all was not loss. One
of the elders let him know
that there was someone worthy
to open the seals. Jesus who
became the Sacrificial Lamb was
the only One worthy to
open the seals. John 1:29 The next day John saw Jesus
coming toward
him and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
(NIV) Then John saw the
Lamb that looked like He had been slain. The Bible lets us know that Jesus
still has physical evidence of the ultimate sacrifice He made for us. No one
will be able to deny that He died and rose again. The evidence is profoundly
clear and still evident in His hands, feet and side. John 20:27 Then he said to Thomas, "Put
your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side.
Stop doubting and believe." (NIV)
John goes on
to say that Jesus was encircled by the
four living creatures and the twenty-four
elders. On him were seven horns and seven eyes. Jesus being the center of all
things was surrounded by the four living creatures who are the embodiment of
who He is. The twenty-four elders who represent the Body of Christ will one day
surround Him and never again be separated when Christ come to take His children
home. The seven horns and eyes represents the Holy Spirit who does a complete
and perfect work throughout the earth and sees all where nothing is hidden.
Jesus, being worthy to open the scroll, took it from God the Father who was
seated on the throne.
Revelation 5:8-10 And when he had taken it, the four
living creatures and the
twenty-four elders fell down
before the Lamb. Each one had a
harp and they were
holding golden bowls full of
incense, which are the
prayers of God’s people. (9)And
they sang a new song,
saying: “You are worthy to take
the scroll and to open its
seals, because you were slain,
and with your blood you
purchased for God persons from
every tribe and language
and people and nation. (10)You
have made them to be a
kingdom and priests to serve
our God, and they will reign
on the earth.” (NIV)
John describes
the four living creatures and the 24
elders as having a harp and
golden bowls with incense. God
loves to hear the praises of
His children. He is worthy of all
praise. Psalm 100:1-5 Shout for joy to the Lord,
all the earth. (2)Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him
with joyful songs. (3)Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made
us, and we are his and not we ourselves; we are his people, the sheep of his
pasture. (4)Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with
praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. (5)For the Lord is
good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all
generations. (NIV) Not
only did they have a harp, they also had incense in their bowls, which are the prayers
that goes up before God. Psalm 141:2 May my prayer be set
before you like incense; may the lifting up of my hands be
like the evening sacrifice. (NIV) We neverhave to worry about our prayers
not being heard. For we know that when we pray the will
of the Father, He hears and sees all and will answer in
accordance to His perfect
will.
The song that
they sang told of God’s Salvation
through His son, Jesus, who
came to save the world from
sin. John 3:16 For God so loved the world
that he gave
his one and
only Son, that whoever believes in him shall
not perish but
have eternal life. (NIV)
God made us priests
and all who are true to Him
will serve Him with the grace
of humility that He freely
gives, so that we can be a witness
to the world. 1 Peter 2:9 But you are a
chosen people, a
royal
priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession,
that you may
declare the praises of him who called you
out of
darkness into his wonderful light. (NIV)
Revelation 5:11-14 Then I looked and heard the
voice of many angels, numbering
thousands upon
thousands, and ten thousand
times ten thousand. They
encircled the throne and the
living creatures and the
elders. (12)In a
loud voice they were saying: “Worthy is the
Lamb, who was slain, to receive
power and wealth and
wisdom and strength and honor
and glory and praise!”
(13)Then I heard every creature in heaven and on
earth
and under the earth and on the
sea, and all that is in
them, saying: “To him who sits
on the throne and to the
Lamb be praise and honor and
glory and power, for ever
and ever!” (14)The
four living creatures said, “Amen,”
and the elders fell down and
worshiped. (NIV)
John described
all of the Heavenly host proclaiming
the worthiness of the Lamb of
God who was slain. Within
this tribute is six highlights
about what the Son of God,
Jesus, received as a result of
His sacrifice.
a.) Power—1 Corinthians 6:14 By his
power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also. (NIV) All power belongs to God. Therefore, what
belongs to God also belongs to His Son.
b.) Wealth—Psalm 50:10-12 For every
animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills. (11)I
know every bird in the mountains, and the insects in the fields are mine. (12)If
I were hungry I would not tell you, for the world is mine, and all that is in
it. (NIV)
God created everything that exist.
All riches belong to Him and therefore, He gave it to His Son.
c.) Strength—Psalm 28:7 The LORD is my
strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps
for joy, and with my song I praise him. (NIV) Jesus did what no other man on earth could
do. He bore the sins of the world upon His shoulder. This required strength
that could only come from God the Father.
d.) Honor—1 Chronicles 29:11 Yours, Lord, is the greatness
and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in
heaven and earth is yours. Yours, Lord, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head
over all. (NIV) No other
being in Heaven above or earth
below deserves more honor than God. He gave this honor to His Son as a gift for
all that He had done.
e.) Glory—Hebrews 1:3 The Son is the radiance of God’s
glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his
powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the
right hand of the Majesty in heaven. (NIV) Because God is glory and there is no one
above Him, Jesus is Glory for
He and the Father are
One.
f.) Praise—Psalm 145:3 Great is the LORD and most
worthy of
praise; his greatness no one can fathom. (NIV) There is no other name that deserves more
praise
than Jesus. For without Christ,
we would be loss.
John described
everyone in Heaven, on earth,
below the earth, and sea
worshiping Jesus and
proclaiming the greatness of
who He is. The Bible tells us
that all will bow before Him as
the Mighty King that He is.
Philippians
2:6-11 Who, being in very nature of God,
did not
consider equality with God something to be used
to his own
advantage; (7)rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the
very nature of a servant, being made in
human
likeness. (8)And being found in appearance as a
man, he
humbled himself by becoming obedient to
death—even
death on a cross! (9)Therefore God exalted
him to the
highest place and gave him the name that is
above every
name, (10)that at the name of Jesus every knee
should bow, in
heaven and on earth and under the earth,
(11)and every tongue acknowledge
that Jesus Christ is
Lord, to the
glory of God the Father. (NIV)
