The Willie Lynch Letter: The
Making Of A Slave!
Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed
from lack of knowledge…. (NIV)
This speech was given by a
British slave owner, Willie Lynch, in James Town, Virginia on the river’s bank in
1712. He was invited to give his expertise
in the slave trade by helping American slave owners understand what they needed
to do in order to have control over their slaves and prevent possible uprisings.
The letter is as follow, but will be broken down into parts for the purposes of
elaboration and explanation in regards to its relevance in today’s times and
from a Biblical perspective.
Gentlemen:
I greet you here on the
bank of the James River in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and
twelve. First, I shall thank you, the gentlemen of the Colony of Virginia, for
bringing me here. I am here to help you solve some of your problems with
slaves. Your invitation reached me on my modest plantation in the West Indies,
where I have experimented with some of the newest and still the oldest methods
for control of slaves. Ancient Rome's would envy us if my program is implemented.
As our boat sailed south on
the James River, named for our illustrious King, whose version of the Bible we
cherish, I saw enough to know that your problem is not unique. While Rome used
cords of wood as crosses for standing human bodies along its highways in great
numbers, you are here using the tree and the rope on occasions. I caught the
whiff of a dead slave hanging from a tree, a couple miles back. You are not
only losing valuable stock by hangings, you are having uprisings, slaves are running
away, your crops are sometimes left in the fields too long for maximum profit,
You suffer occasional fires, your animals are killed.]
Gentlemen, you know what
your problems are; I do not need to elaborate. I am not here to enumerate your
problems, I am here to introduce you to a method of solving them. In my bag
here, I have a foolproof method for controlling your black slaves. I guarantee
every one of you that if installed correctly it will control the slaves for at
least 300 years [2012].
The slave owners had convinced
themselves that their slaves were not equal to them, but needed to be controlled
like livestock. They were not able to think on their own and did not deserve the
freedoms and liberties that whites were entitled to by birth. They thought of
themselves as a superior race and slaves were born to be subservient to them.
Although many of them considered themselves as Christians, they did not embody
the beliefs and teachings of Christ, for if they did, they would have treated
their slaves as human beings instead of inanimate objects. Colossians 4:1 Masters,
provided your slaves with what is right and fair, because you know that you
also have a Master in heaven. (NIV)
Willie Lynch was invited to
Jamestown to solve a problem that the slave owners felt they couldn’t resolve
themselves. He was deemed to be an expert on controlling slaves and within this
speech assured them that they would have great success if they followed his
advice. The Bible, however, lets us know that we must be wise with whom we
receive counsel from. All counsel is not good counsel even if it does do what
it is intended to do. Psalm 1:1-2 Blessed is the one who
does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or
sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and
who meditates on his law day and night. (NIV) The counsel that the
slave owners wished to receive from Willie Lynch was one to further oppress an
already broken people who were forced to be enslaved against their will. Through
manipulative techniques, which was just as bad mentally as the master’s whip,
these slaves would oppress themselves without even knowing it.
Willie Lynch’s mind manipulation
was not new, but it was revitalized because slavery had always existed where
the strong often suppressed the weak who were not able to fend for themselves.
This is evident in the Bible when God told Abraham that his descendants would
be enslaved for 400 years in a strange land. Genesis 15:13 Then the
Lord said to him, “Know for certain that for four hundred years your
descendants will be strangers in a country not their own and that they will be
enslaved and mistreated there. (NIV) Willie Lynch new that the slaves were
not accustomed to their new homeland unless they had been born there. This
would prove to be relevant as we go further along.
He made mention of King James and
his version of the Bible, which was often used to keep the slaves under
control. They distorted some of the Biblical passages to condone their
mistreatment and abuse, but disregarded the others as to how they were to treat
their fellow man. The slave owners dealt with occasional uprisings and
runaways. Their fields sometimes suffered from the lack of laborers thus, wild
fires were started and animals were killed. Willie Lynch also reminded them of
the smell of rotten slave corpses that were left to hang, which they surely did
as a scare tactic for other slaves, but as with Rome, that method proved to be
ineffective.
Willie Lynch was confident that his
method for controlling slaves would have them in bondage for 300 years. Even
though the slaves were eventually freed, the slavery of the mind that he put
into place centuries ago still exists in the 21st century. The shadow
global elitists are using these methods today, while the masses are like sheep
being led to the slaughter. They are of the devil and are being used as his minions
to plot and carry out evil schemes all across the planet. Micah 2:1 Woe to those who
plan iniquity, to those who plot evil on their beds! At morning’s light they
carry it out because it is in their power to do it. (NIV)
They think that there is a
problem with you and I being able to think for ourselves. They want to program
us to be the perfect little slave. They want to take over our lives by telling
us what to say, what to do, what to think, and control what we should know. In
order to do this, they must have the perfect recipe in order to have the
makings for a New Slave. What I intend to do is give you their ingredients, so
that you can have an understanding into their diabolical plan in order to free yourself
from the plantation and take a train on the underground railroad to freedom. Galatians
5:1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do
not let yourselves be burdened again by the yoke of slavery. (NIV)
