HOUSE OF DIVISION
Mark 3:23 So Jesus called
them and spoke to them in parables: “How can Satan drive out Satan? If a
kingdom is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.” (NIV)
In the early
hours of November 9, 2016, Donald Trump defied the odds by becoming the
president-elect of the United States of America. This nomination did not come
through natural means, but it was through the mighty hand of GOD. Daniel
2:21 He changes times and seasons; he sets up kings and deposes them. He
gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. (NIV) Now,
take notice of this next text in Daniel, for it gives light into what took
place during the campaign. Daniel 2:22 He reveals deep and
hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwell with him. (NIV)
We saw the most vile and disgusting things be exposed by way of Julian Assange
(Wiki-Leaks) and alternative media concerning those who currently lead this
nation and those who were attempting to lead once again. Reports of Satanic
cooking recipes, child sacrifice, murder, greed, lust, pay-for-plays, sexual
indulgences, cheating and all kinds of evil was exposed during this election process.
Lies were told, false witnesses appeared, media bias, scandals of every kind, election
fraud, and more were the headlines of the daily news and yet, God seemingly
allowed Donald Trump to withstand all of the above.
So what
should be the Christian’s response? Many Christians prayed and fasted for Trump
to win, due to his stance on abortion, religious liberties, and other issues
that they felt lined up with Biblical principles. However, there were other
Christians who supported Hillary Clinton, even while knowing that she is
totally against the Word of GOD. Therefore, what does the Bible have to say
with regards to the Christian response to elected leaders. Romans 13:1 Everyone must
submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except
that which God has established. (NIV) We are to obey our elected
leaders regardless of if we like them or not as long as their laws do not go
against the laws of God. Should that take place, God’s law always supersedes
man’s law. Acts 5:29 Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey
God rather than men!” (NIV) According to the Bible, this is the ONLY
time that we are to defy authority.
But there
was and still is another matter that is affecting Christians immediately after
this historical election. It is the temptation to be boastful and gloat over
those who lost their dreams of seeing the first female president take office. Even
deeper for some was the hope that she would represent the values that they hold
firmly to rather than see an outsider, with no political experience, become
leader of the free world. Christians, however, must not be like the world in
our response to secular issues. We are to act and have the mind of Christ, so
that we can be an example to others. Philippians 2:5 Your attitude should
be the same as that of Christ Jesus. (NIV) Right now, as I am writing
this blog, there are protests taking place in various areas throughout the
country in regards to the presidential election’s results. The protestors are
chanting things of hate, vulgarity, and even attempting to start fires and
trash the city. Are we to act in the same manner as those who obviously do not
know God? Jeremiah 10:2 “This is what the Lord says: “Do not learn the
ways of the nations or be terrified by signs in the sky, though the nations are
terrified by them.” (NIV) The sign in the sky for Christians at this
time is that GOD is still on the throne.
See, the world does not know God
and therefore, cannot have peace in knowing that regardless of who rules the
land, the land belongs to God. This is why it is so important for us to come
together as one in order to help the nation heal. 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my
people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my
face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will
forgive their sin and will heal their land. (NIV) America is headed for
some troublesome times because she has rebelled against God. Even though Trump
has promised to put this nation back together and undo some of the laws that
have been done, Trump cannot do what the CHURCH is supposed to do. WE are to be
the light unto a dark world that feels as if its lost all hope. WE must show
them Jesus through our actions and deeds. How else can the world see God if
they don’t see Him in you FIRST.
Church, it is time to UNITE
regardless of religion and allow God to use us as vessels to bring His end-time
harvest. There is plenty of work to be done and just because Trump won office
does not mean that we are to go into a comatose state. Luke 10:2 He told them, “The
harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the lord of the harvest,
therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” (NIV) The work
is just beginning and WE as the body of Christ have a long road ahead of us
because darkness in on the world and will increase as it gets closer for Jesus
to come back. Will you be one of His workers in the field? He calls for us to
be one body with many parts to do His work as one. There are many lost souls,
but we are to help save them one at a time.
