NUMBERS MOMENT – (15FEB19) The Israelites were to celebrate
the Passover every year in honor of God bringing them out of Egypt. During this
occasion, they were to eat roasted lamb without breaking the bones along with
bitter herbs and unleavened bread. This was a prelude to the Lamb of God who
would take away the sins of the world by freeing us out of the bondage of sin,
similarly to the Children of Israel being freed from their captors. Just as the
bones were not to be broken of the lamb that was eaten during Passover, Jesus’ bones
were not broken as prophesied by the Psalmist. “He protects all his bones, not
one of them will be broken (Psalms 34:20). The bitter herbs represent
the bitterness of what the Son of God would have to go through leading up to
and on the cross, but He was and still is the Living Bread that came to feed
those in hunger of Him. Today, we still need the blood of the Lamb to protect
us from the demonic forces of hell, so that they would pass over our homes,
families, and loved ones. The world is becoming increasingly wicked, but we have
the Blood that never loses its power. Something to ponder.
QUESTION OF THE DAY – (15FEB19) The priests were responsible
for keeping the lamps lit in the Tabernacle so that it never went dark. The
Bible says, “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto
my path” (Psalm 119:105). God’s word is a light for the direction that we are
to walk, so that we will not take the wrong path, but ensures that we are in
alignment with God. Do you find that studying God’s word helps you with knowing
the path that He has for you to follow? Does studying God’s Word help you to
understand more about God’s thoughts for you in times of discouragement and
doubt? If Jesus were to knock at your front door, would He see a light burning
on the inside of you to make Him feel welcome? Something to ponder…
NUMBERS MOMENT – (15FEB19) God
told Moses to have two trumpets made out of silver. The Levites were to blow
silver trumpets whenever there was an assembly before the Lord with all the
Israelites, an assembly with just the leaders, when it was time to move camp,
and for the celebration of feast, festivals, and offerings. There is once again
going to be the sound of a trumpet blast. This will be the sound for the return
of the King of kings and Lord of lords. The Bible says, “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a
shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead
in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught
up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall
we ever be with the Lord. (1 Thessalonians 4:16). What a glorious
day that is going to be. We will finally be able to see our Lord, Savior,
Redeemer, Immanuel, Yeshua, Prince of Peace, Mighty Counselor, and the list of
His names could go on and on. For those who are ready, it will be such a joyful
day when our eyes shall behold Him. For those who are not, it will be a
horrific day. Let us pray for those who are lost and do not know Him so that
they too can look forward to the coming of the Lord. Something to ponder…
