The Biblical Case Against "ANAL SEX" For Christian Heterosexual Married Couples

THE CASE AGAINST ANAL SEX FOR HETEROSEXUAL MARRIED COUPLES

Proverbs 18:22 He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord. (NIV)

          There was a recent debate on my Facebook page in regards to married couples being able to have Anal Sex. Many Christian couples use the text about the married bed being undefiled and that anything and everything goes as long as the two agree with the exception of pornography and swinging. Even some in the church, however, enjoy the previously mentioned and think that there is nothing wrong with it as long as the two people are married. Well, what does God have to say? Hebrews 13:4 Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral. (NIV) This text does not mean any and everything goes just because you are married. So, for those who watch pornography as a couple, take notice that the above text mentions adultery and ALL sexually immoral. What is in porn? People committing fornication, adultery, homosexuality, and other sexually immoral acts. 

          Jesus told the disciples that if you even look lustfully upon a woman, you have committed adultery in your heart. Matthew 5:27-28  “You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. (NIV) Therefore, married couples, if you think that God is okay with you watching pornography or even swinging with another couple, THINK AGAIN! It is wicked in the eyes of the Lord.

Now let’s take a look at the case AGAINST having Anal Sex.

1.)    In the beginning, when God created Adam and Eve, He told them to be fruitful and multiply. Genesis 1: 28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number, fill the earth and subdue it…(NIV) The only way that Adam and Eve were able to be obedient to God in this manner was to have vaginal sex.

2.)    God commanded man and women to not have intercourse during a woman’s monthly cycle. Leviticus 18:19 Do not approach a woman to have sexual relations during the uncleanness of her monthly cycle. (NIV) During this time of month, women were considered to be unclean and therefore, a man was not to touch her. If God considered vaginal sex unclean due to blood coming out of a woman, where would He rate fecal matter coming from a hole that was never intended to be entered?

3.)    If a woman married in the Bible and had not produced any children with her husband, the next brother in line was to sleep with her so that she could have a child to still carry on her dead husband’s name. Genesis 38:8-10  ⁽⁸⁾Then Judah said to Onan, “Lie with your brother’s wife and fulfill your duty to her as a brother-in-law to produce offspring for your brother. ⁽⁹⁾But Onan knew that the offspring would not be his, so whenever he lay with his brother’s wife, he spilled his semen on the ground to keep from producing offspring for his brother. ⁽¹⁰⁾What he did was wicked in the Lord’s sight; so he put him to death also. (NIV) The question to ask for this story is, “Why did Onan not just have anal sex with her and then he never would  have had to use the withdrawal method if that were permitted?”

4.)    Sodomy derives from the word, Sodom and is defined by Wikipedia and other sources and anal and/or oral sex between persons of the same and/or opposite sex. Therefore, even if a heterosexual couple is married, a man committing sodomy with his wife cannot in all honesty condemn the gay man committing sodomy with his partner because both acts are unnatural and sexually immoral. Romans 1:26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion. (NIV)

5.)    The Children of Israel were once again in rebellion and in an effort to teach them how repulsive it was to Him, God told Ezekiel to make some bread and cook it over human dung (poop). However, Ezekiel begged God to not allow him to defile himself in that manner. God was gracious to Ezekiel and allowed him to bake the bread over animal dung instead. Ezekiel 4:12-15  ⁽¹²⁾Eat the food as you would a barley cake; bake it in the sight of the people, using human excrement for fuel.” ⁽¹³⁾The Lord said, “In this way the people of Israel will eat defiled food among the nations where I will drive them.” ⁽¹⁴⁾Then I said, “Not so, Sovereign Lord. I have never defiled myself. From my youth until now I have never eaten anything found dead or torn by wild animals. No unclean meat has ever entered my mouth. ⁽¹⁵⁾”Very well,” he said, “I will let you bake your bread over cow mature instead of human excrement. (NIV) Ezekiel would have defiled himself by handling and cooking his food over human dung. If this would have defiled him, would not anal sex where a man’s genitals is inside a woman’s rectum be even more defiling?

6.)    God considered fecal matter as unclean and needing to be disposed of. He set regulations that the Children of Israel were to go outside of the camp to relieve themselves and also have special tools with them in order to cover it up, for when He came throughout the camp, He did not want to see anything that was unclean. Deuteronomy 23:12-14  ⁽¹²⁾Designate place outside the camp where you can go to relieve yourself. ⁽¹³⁾As part of your equipment have something to dig with and when you reliever yourself, dig a hole and cover up your excrement. ⁽¹⁴⁾For the Lord your God moves about in your camp to protect you and to deliver your enemies to you. Your camp must be holy, so that he will not see among you anything indecent and turn away from you. (NIV) If God considered it as unclean and indecent for feces and other bodily fluids to be left out for Him to see, what do you think that God is thinking when a man has fecal matter on his private parts from insertion up his wife’s rectum? 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own: you were bought at a price. Therefore, honor god with your body. (NIV)

 According to WebMD, anal sex is one of the riskiest forms of sex. Is science is telling you that the anus was not meant for penal insertion, what does that tell you? GOD never intended for a male’s penis to be in anyone’s rectum. According to WebMD, the dangers of anal sex are:

a.)    Lacks the natural lubrication that the vaginal has.

b.)    Tissue inside the anus is not a protected as the skin outside the                  anus.

c.)    The anus was designed to hold feces.

d.)    The anus is full of bacteria.

          In conclusion, people will do what they desire and it is not my role as an evangelist to do the work of the Holy Spirit. I can only present to you what God gave to me and present you with the truth. According to the scriptures that God gave me, ANAL SEX is unnatural and therefore, immoral in accordance to the standards of God. At the end of the day, YOU have to be the one to make the decision as God leads you. However, I must warn that we are not to allow the flesh to rule us, but submit our fleshly desires to the Lord. Romans 8:7-8 The sinful mind is hostile to God. It does not submit to God’s law nor can it do so. Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God. (NIV)
