DOES IT MATTER?
There are many Christians who take to social media to debate a number of topics within the Bible. The debates are so heated that even though you can't see the person on the other screen, you can still feel the tension over cyberspace. The debates often consist of questions that will not send one to Heaven or Hell, but often cause friction during the online chat. You may ask, "What questions are they?" Well, here are a few:
Is Jesus black or white?
Is there a pre, mid, or post tribulation rapture?
Do you go to Heaven or Hell right away when you die?
Should you celebrate the holidays?
Is it okay to eat pork?
Should you attend church on Saturday or Sunday?
The list goes on and on.... Well, let's address the first question. Does it matter if Jesus is black or white? Will it determine where you go in the end? NO! Jesus wants us to believe in Him and then we'll be saved. John 3:16
Will you go to Heaven or hell based upon if you are a pre, mid, or post tribulation rapture believer? NO! For those who want to debate, let's settle it this way -- pray for the best (pre and mid-trib) and prepare for the worse (mid and post trib). Either way...you are to be ready. Revelation 22:12
Do you go to Heaven or hell right away when you die? To settle this debate, be prepared to go to Heaven and ensure that you don't go to hell REGARDLESS of the timing involved. Luke 23:43
Should you celebrate the holidays? Well, Paul said let everyone be convinced in his own mind. If you abstain, do so unto the Lord, if you celebrate, do so unto the Lord. Don't attack anyone else concerning the holidays. Romans 14:5-8
Is it okay to eat pork? We are no longer under the Levitical laws, BUT Paul said that everything is permissible, but not everything is beneficial. You may find that pork is NOT beneficial to your health. After all, your body is the temple of God. Romans 14:1-3
Should you attend church on Saturday or Sunday. Although Saturday is the Sabbath, the church is YOU. Therefore, allow God to lead you in this matter because there are many who honor the Sabbath without attending a house of worship on that day. Exodus 20:8-11.
What matters is that you are ready for Jesus' return. Some things are just debatable but does not have anything to do with your soul salvation. Keep your eyes on Christ. In that way, you will not go wrong.
