Who Is God?
Jehovah El Nose…God Who Forgives
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he
is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
(NIV)
Due to the fall of man, God had to devise a plan of
Salvation. The sins of man caused a separation between himself and God.
Nevertheless, God is a forgiving Lord and therefore, He decided to send His
Son, Jesus, to save us from our sins. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that
he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but
have eternal life. (NIV) As a result of His ultimate sacrifice, we can
be forgiven of all our sins and not be doomed to go to a devil’s hell.
Unfortunately, man is not as forgiven as God. Man holds grudges, seek revenge,
become vigilantes, and decrease even in good health for lack of forgiveness.
However, God has told us that it is a requirement for us to forgive in order to
make it to His kingdom. Mark 11:25-26 And when you stand
praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father
in heaven may forgive you your sins. But if you do not forgive, neither will
your Father who is in heaven forgive your sins. (NIV) No one can enter Heaven
if there is a lack of forgiveness in the heart. It doesn’t matter if what was
done was the vilest of things, God expects us to forgive just as He forgives us
on a daily basis. This is why one of His names is Jehovah El Nose, which means,
‘God who FORGIVES.’
In order to have a heart of
forgiveness, there are some steps that one must take in order to effectively
release the bondage that holds them. Many people do not know that they are
enslaved to the chains of unforgiveness. They go through life boggled down with
all sorts of emotions and fail to understand that the reason they may not have
reached self-actualization in Jehovah El Nose is because of something they are
negatively holding on to. Until their chains are broken, they will never be
fully free to achieve all that Jehovah El Nose has for them.
When alcoholics are going through their recovery
program, most rehabilitation centers take them through the Betty Ford’s 12 steps
of recovery or better known as The Twelve Steps of Alcoholic Anonymous. We are
going to use those steps in discovering Jehovah El Nose’s plan for our lives in
forgiving others and we learn more about Him.
