The Judgment of Satan and the Dead (Day 34)

Revelation 20:7-10 (7)When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison (8)and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth—Gog and Magog—and to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore. (9)They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God’s people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them. (10)And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever. (NIV)

After the thousand years, the devil will be released so that he can deceive the nations one final time. He will inspire Gog and Magog to gather for the final battle. There will be multiple nations gather together for they will be too many to count. They will try to conquer God’s people and Jerusalem. However, He will destroy them along with the devil and his false prophet. Never again will the devil be able to deceive anyone as he has done for centuries. Ezekiel 38:1-6 (1)The word of the Lord came to me: (2)“Son of man, set your face against Gog, of the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshek and Tubal; prophesy against him (3)and say: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against you, Gog, chief prince of Meshek and Tubal. (4)I will turn you around, put hooks in your jaws and bring you out with your whole army—your horses, your horsemen fully armed, and a great horde with large and small shields, all of them brandishing their swords. (5)Persia, Cush and Put will be with them, all with shields and helmets, (6)also Gomer with all its troops, and Beth Togarmah from the far north with all its troops—the many nations with you. (NIV) It is amazing how the devil knows what is to come and yet, in all these years, he still tries to win against God. However, God will have the final victory.

The Judgment of the Dead

Revelation 20:11-15 (11)Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. The earth and the heavens fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. (12)And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. (13)The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what they had done. (14)Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. (15)Anyone whose name was not found written in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire. (NIV)

God will sit on His throne to judge everyone according to their deeds. The books in Heaven will tell of all the things that we did here on earth rather good or bad. Those who are eternally lost will know the reason why as God goes over the records of both the dead and the living. Anyone whose name is not found in the book of life will die the second death, which will be the eternal damnation of hell fire. There will be no second chances to get it right. The time to choose a righteous living is now, while you are still alive. Hebrews 10:26-27 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. (NIV)
