GENESIS MOMENT – God
appeared to Jacob in a vision to let him know that he was not to be afraid of
going to Egypt and that He would be with him. Jacob had some concern about the
move to this foreign land based on the promises that had been given to him, his
father and grandfather. Nevertheless, God assured him that all would be well
and that he would one day return. There are times in life when we may be unsure
about certain decisions we make. We may weigh them in the balances, but second
guess ourselves due to the uncertainty that life can often bring. Nevertheless,
we have a Heavenly Father who knows the end from the beginning. Because He is
the Potter and we are His clay, He knows the final outcome of His vessels when
we are still at the clay stage. All we have to do is submit our cares unto Him
and He will give us the answers that we seek. Something to ponder…
QUESTION OF THE DAY
– The famine in Egypt was so severe that people eventually ran out of money.
The Egyptians first sold their cattle and livestock to Joseph who took it on
Pharaoh’s behalf and then they offered to sell themselves and their land in
exchange for food. This meant that the people who had to resort to this were
servants, of which, Joseph was in full control. Isn’t it amazing that the one
who was once a servant himself was now in charge of those who placed themselves
in servitude? Was God preparing Joseph to have a heart for such by making him
one of them first? Isn’t it amazing to see how God was the CEO of the first
Apprentice show were one of his proteges helped to save a nation? Something to
ponder…
GENESIS MOMENT – Jacob
and his family had finally come to Egypt where they would have provisions to
last them during the remaining years of the drought. Joseph had been appointed
as the governor of Egypt a couple of years before their arrival just in time to
carry out this task. God’s timing was everything. He had Joseph in the right
place at the right time to prevent what could have been a major disaster for
his chosen people – leading them to possible starvation, illness, and death.
Joseph’s pain and suffering came at a high cost but paid off in the end. He,
along with his family, was blessed through his strokes of misfortune and eventual
portrait of elevation. God is the Master Artist of our lives. He knows how the
story is going to end before it even begins. He starts with a blank canvas of
us at birth, and during our lifetime, many strokes of paint is used to produce
our portrait. The strokes that the Artist uses does not always feel good at
times, due to the hardness of the brush of life and its many bristles of
despair. Yet, God continues to paint away. He uses every pain, every hardship,
every fear, and every feeling of brokenness as part of our life’s portrait to
develop us. One day, our portrait will be complete when He says, “Well done.” Until
that day, we must allow God to continue His development of us into an absolute
Masterpiece. Something to ponder…
