Adam and Eve Go into Hiding

Genesis 3:9-10 But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?” He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.” (NIV)

 

               God created a world that was perfect within six days. The creation of man completed that work and God was very pleased. The sun, moon and stars hung in the sky the way that He designed them, so that gravity would preserve the hold as He intended. The trees, plants and flowers never withered, but served as beauty and food for God’s living creatures. The beast of the field, air and sea where domestic in their behavior towards one another, so that no creature was the predator and another the prey. Then there was man, who was designed in the image of God, and was to be the guardians of the land that God had made. They were created a little lower than the angels, but intelligent enough to govern all of God’s creation for man’s intellect was incomparable to the other creatures God had made. Unfortunately, man listened to the lies of the enemy and creation was never the same.

 

               Prior to the fall of man, Adam and Eve had dominion over a pain free world. There was no such thing as heartache, misery, suffering and grief. Sin had been limited to just the devil and his angels. Man was free from the curse that was attached to sin for he had been made perfect in the image of God. Genesis 1:26-27 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. (NIV) Because man was without sin, there was no need for clothes. Adam and Eve could walk around freely without any sense of shame. They didn’t know the feelings of embarrassment, awkwardness or humiliation, as we would know it, should we walk around in our birthday suits publicly. You couldn’t even get past the cops without being arrested for indecent exposure if you were to do so today. Adam and Eve were blessed beyond measure and yet, they did not realize that the devil was about to give them the biggest lie of all times.

 

               God had created all types of animals, but the serpent was the most intelligent of them all. Jesus also referred to the serpent as having intelligence when teaching the disciples. Matthew 10:16 Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst wolves; be ye therefore wise as serpents and harmless as doves. (KJV) This lets us know that the snake is no dumb creature and was that way from the very beginning. Genesis 3:1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made…. (NIV) Snakes have the capability to calculate moves with regards to attacking their prey and are able to learn to adapt to their environment, especially younger snakes. So this may be the reason that the devil chose to utilize this particular reptilian creature over all the other animals that God created. The Bible refers to the devil as a serpent due to his cunning ways by which he still deceives the masses today. Revelation 12:9 The great dragon was hurled down – that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray, and his angels with him. (NIV)

               The Bible does not go in-depth as to how the devil managed to get the cooperation of the serpent to enter its body, in order to be used as a deceiving vessel towards Eve, but it does let us know that God obviously felt that it had enough sense to reject the devil’s scheme; therefore, the snake was cursed. Genesis 3:14 So the Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this, “Cursed are you above all the livestock and all the wild animals! You will crawl on your belly and you will eat dust all the days of your life.” (NIV) The serpent paid a huge cost for his part in the deception of man.

               Adam and Eve were told that they were never to eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. They were warned that if they should eat of it, they would die. Genesis 2:16-17 And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die.” (NIV) Unfortunately, they did not heed the warning. Therefore, they succumbed to sin, and immediately went into hiding, due to their newly experienced sense of shame. Nevertheless, they could not hide from Jehovah El Roi because He sees all. Genesis 3:8-10 ⁽⁸⁾Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. ⁽⁹⁾But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?” ⁽¹⁰⁾He answered, “I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid.” (NIV)

               There was no need for Adam and Eve to think that they could hide from Jehovah El Roi. He was the One who created them; therefore, He already knew what they looked like and there was nowhere in the universe that they could possibly hide from His sight. Jeremiah 23:23-24 “Am I only a God nearby,” declares the Lord, “and not a God far away? Can anyone hide in secret places so that I cannot see him?” declares the Lord. “Do not I fill heaven and earth?” declares the Lord. (NIV) Nevertheless, they tried anyway, but was unsuccessful.

               Adam and Eve found out that they could not hide from Jehovah El Roi and neither can anyone else. He is an all-seeing God. He knows that thoughts and plans of man even before they are put into motion. Jeremiah 16:17 My eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from me, nor is their sin concealed from my eyes. (NIV) Jehovah El Roi is always aware of His creation rather it be good or bad. This is why it never pays to think that we can do evil and get away with it because Jehovah El Roi sees and therefore, will reward accordingly. Matthew 16:27 For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done. (NIV) Let us make sure that we live in accordance to Jehovah El Roi’s will at all times for He watches us both day and night.

Jeremiah 18:7-10 ⁽⁷⁾If at any time I announce that a nation or kingdom is to be uprooted, torn down and destroyed, ⁽⁸⁾and if that nation I warned repents of its evil, then I will relent and not inflict on it the disaster I had planned. ⁽⁹⁾And if at another time I announce that a nation or kingdom is to be built up and planted, ⁽¹⁰⁾and if it does evil in my sight and does not obey me, then I will reconsider the good I had intended to do for it. (NIV)

            God allowed the United States of America to be a nation of wealth, freedom, abundance and prosperity. It was the most blessed nation in all the world due to the mighty hands of God. Despite its imperfect beginnings, God blessed it to become the strongest and most powerful nation in the world. The United States was once the most feared and yet respected nation like none other. Unfortunately, what was once a resilient and influential nation has become destabilized and is deteriorating at the seams, due to its desire for sin and the abundance of evil that is taking place in the land. Those who lead the nation are no longer Godly, but are tyrants at best and those in many of America’s pulpits are nothing more than clanking cowards. Obama is America’s Pharaoh and many pastors are too afraid to call sin by its name. As a result, we have tuned into a nation of perversion.

 

            Instead of protecting the innocent, many would rather rally for toilet rights of distinguished perverts. Instead of being in compliance with God’s original intent for marriage between one man and woman, our court system has decided to redefine what it never created and allow the misguided to dictate our morals and laws. Instead of sparing the unborn from the brutality of abortion and ending the corruption taking place with Planned Parenthood, the law is now going after the ones who exposed it rather than punish the guilty. Instead of standing on the foundation of Christianity for which this country was founded, we have devils in the White House, Court House, and the Vatican promoting the spread of Islam, which is nothing more than a demonic system under the disguise of religion straight from the pits of Hell.

 

 

             America spreads its filth through its music from artists like Beyonce and Jay-z, pornography through its importation and exportation, music videos and games, television, books and magazines. Sex, profanity, greed, and other trash is promoted through these various streams. America has become a sea of trash that can only be filtered by God himself. Instead of bowing down to the Lord of Heaven, our cites erects Baphomet Statues, take down the Ten Commandments, display rainbow colors on the White House website in honor of sexual perversion,  celebrated goddess Kali, god of death on New York’s Empire State Building, and all kinds of evil to turn their nose up at God.

 

 

However, America’s days are numbered as a powerful nation. Many see it being destroyed right before our very eyes and for those who don’t, you must be in a state of blindness. Many are placing their faith in a politician when we need to be placing our faith in God. We need to turn our hearts and this nation back to God. HE is the ONLY hope for this nation. Unfortunately, this nation has turned a death ear to God and have open arms towards sin. We will reap what we have sewn as a nation. We cannot think that we can continue to slam the door in God’s face and not expect a response. The response is coming. It has been gradual because He is longsuffering, but when it does, this nation will be brought to its knees. REPENT! TURN BACK TO GOD WHILE YOU STILL CAN! God loves this nation, but sin cannot remain in His midst.

 



Target Stores' Boycott: the Demons of Perversion are Running Loose

Isaiah 5:20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness. (NIV)

              There is a sickness in the land of America. It is running all throughout the country with there being a need to exterminate it. It doesn’t matter who it infects rather it be man or woman, boy or girl. The one thing for sure is that there needs to be an immediate extermination.  It runs from the White House to the Court House; from the schools to the prisons; from the workplace to the fireplace and the contagion has even been spread to some worship houses. What is this sickness? It is the sin of PERVERSION!

 

            God created a perfect universe, in the beginning, where sin did not exist. However, after the fall of man, sin spread all throughout the earth and God’s once perfect creation was spoiled by the effects of sin. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (NIV) Man could no longer see God face to face for sin is unable to be in the presence of God. Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. (NIV) Nevertheless, God had a plan for the redemption of man whereas he would not be eternally lost. That plan went into action immediately and God sacrificed His one and only Son to save mankind from sin. Unfortunately, man has not appreciated the Sacrifice that was given on his behalf and therefore, has become increasing wicked. Genesis 6:5 The Lord saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. (NIV)

           

          We see this taking place throughout the land of America. America is WICKED! It is a sinful nation! Now there are a remnant to God-fearing believers within the land, but the majority of this nation is full of evil as in the days of Noah, Sodom and Gomorrah. Luke 17:26-30 ⁽²⁶⁾”Just as it was in the days of Noah, so also will it be in the days of the Son of Man. ⁽²⁷⁾People were eating, drinking, Marrying and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all. ⁽²⁸⁾It was the same in the days of Lot. People were eating and drinking, buying and selling, planting and building. ⁽²⁹⁾But the day Lot left Sodom, fire and sulfur rained down from heaven and destroyed them all. ⁽³⁰⁾It will be like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed.” (NIV) Man in his desire to defy God will do any and everything in attempt to have self-pleasure. Those who dare to speak out against the evil are considered bigots, Bible thumpers, and discriminatory. They point the finger at those who are trying to uphold Godly laws and say that we are outdated and need to get with the times. However, the Bible speaks against this. 2 Timothy 4:2 Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage — with great patience and careful instruction. (NIV) God’s word does not change and we are to stand firm on it even when the world rejects it.

 

            The Christian Community is facing such a dilemma. There is a need to stand against the PERVERSIONS of this nation. If we fail to stand, we may as well close our Bibles because that would mean that we are just reading, but never applying what it says. James 1:22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. (NIV) We have to stand up for Christ even when it is unpopular with the rest of the world. God needs strong warriors who will not bow to the evils of this world. Matthew 10:32-33 “Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.” (NIV) It is time for Christians to stop being comfortable with sin and start speaking out  and standing up against it.

             Recently in the news, Target has decided that they will allow perversion to take place in all their stores. Men can go into women’s restrooms and women can go into men’s restrooms. Therefore, if big burly Bob wants to identify himself as a woman on any given day, he can just walk right into the women’s restroom where your daughters, grand-daughters, nieces and even wives are going to take care of their private needs. This is the same for men. If Christine decides she wants to be Rob for a day, she can go into the men’s restroom and get an eyeful watching as many men as she’d like using the urinals. This is not to get graphic, but this is real.

 

            Sexual perversion is on the rise and those who participate wish to exploit it as much as they can. They do not care about the harm that it does to children or the safety threats that it would pose to the innocent. As long as they get to have their way and FORCE it on you, that’s all they care about. Therefore, we as Christians need to have our say and make our stand. BOYCOTT those DEMONS! That’s right! Target is an organization of DEMONS. The only thing that corporations understand is when you with-hold your money. We should be tired of the wicked trying to impose their wickedness onto the body of Christ. All PASTORS should tell their congregations to no longer support Target Stores. If Target care more for the %1 perverted population in comparison to the 99% who are not LGBT, then let them cave in. Support other stores. Material possessions does not mean anything when it comes to standing on the Word of God. TEACH THEM A LESSON! Support other stores who will not indulge in this wickedness. And if other stores join them…BOYCOTT them too. The Temple of Baal in the Hearts of Men

Exodus 20:3 You shall not have no other gods before me. (NIV)

             Last month, there were news reports circulating all over the media with regards to a Temple of Baal being erected in the cities of New York and London. This 48-foot arch was once a prime feature of attraction in Palmyra, Syria until it was ultimately destroyed by ISIS in August of 2015. As an act of defiance against the terrorist organization, the Institute for Digital Technology (IDA) made plans to preserve history by making replicas of the temple and erecting them in various parts of the world. However, due to the prayers of the saints and possibly receiving numerous complaints against this decision, the IDA has decided to build a Arch of Triumph in its place in New York and London.  

            Although this is great news with regards to Christians, it is still not a total victory. Baal is already in the hearts of men. Although the outward display of the temple will not be seen in the New York Square, there is just as much wickedness and idolatry on display in the world, especially in the land of America. Baal, whose name means “lord,” is not a name given to the God of Heaven, but it belongs to the god of the underworld. We find in the Bible that God was displeased with the Israelites when they worshipped foreign gods. Judges 2:11-13 ⁽¹¹⁾Then the Israelites did evil in the eyes of the Lord and served the Baals. ⁽¹²⁾They forsook the Lord, the God of their fathers, who had brought them out of Egypt. They followed and worshiped various gods of the peoples around them. They provoked the Lord to anger ⁽¹³⁾because they forsook him and served Baal and the Ashtoreths. (NIV) God was displeased then and He is still the same God today. The evils that have been done in honor of demonic gods are a stench in the nostrils of the Lord.

            So why was it easy for nations to agree to having this demonic god’s temple erected in the first place? Let’s breakdown some of the components involved in “Baal” worship.

 a.)    Baal worship involved the sacrifice of children.

Jeremiah 19:5 They have built the high places of Baal to burn their sons in the fire as offering to Baal – something I did not command or mention, nor did it enter my mind. (NIV) The only time God ever asked for a sacrifice of a human was when He tested Abraham. Even in that case, God did not allow Isaac, Abraham’s son, to be sacrificed. Instead, God provided a ram in a bush for him to sacrifice. Genesis 22:13 Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. (NIV)

 

 

 In the United States, nearly 60 million babies have been sacrificed by means of abortion since the 1973 Supreme Court’s landmark decision in Roe vs. Wade. Over 300,000 babies are being murdered every year in the United States alone. Recently, the Centers for Medical Progress was in the news for having gone undercover in a 3-year investigation to expose Planned Parenthood in their marketing of aborted baby parts. Instead of the U.S. government taking a stand and defunding Planned Parenthood, they have gone after those who took part in exposing them. So what does this say about the evils of men? This is one example of Baal, already being in their hearts, by allowing the sacrifice of children to be called “freedom of women’s rights” with no regard to the child.

 

 

 b.)    Baal worship involved sexual immorality.

Numbers 25:1-3 ⁽¹⁾While Israel was staying in Shittim, the men began to indulge in sexual immorality with Moabite women, ⁽²⁾who invited them to the sacrifices to their gods. The people ate and bowed down before these gods. ⁽³⁾So Israel joined in worshiping the Baal of Peor. And the Lord’s anger burned against them. (NIV) God had given a strict command for the Israelites to not marry and become involved with foreign nations to avoid learning their ways. Nevertheless, the Israelites did not heed the Lord’s command and became involved in sexual immorality, which also led them to Baal worship.

 

The United States is one of the largest importers and exporters of pornography in the world. Books, magazines, games, cable television and satellite are tools being used of the devil to exploit the ungodly sexual desires of both men and women. Homosexual marriage has been signed into law by the courts, and the perversion is spreading from the playground to the church house. Men are wanting to become women and women want to become men. Transgender individuals are wanting rights to go into the restrooms, showers, and locker rooms of their choice, while the lesbian, gay, transgender and bi-sexual community (LGBT) are demanding rights, that are placing Christian businesses and soon churches in a standoff against the U.S. government. This is only another example of Baal being in the hearts of man.

c.)    The worship of Baal involved dancing to the beat.

1 Kings 18:25-26 Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, “Choose one of the bulls and prepare it first, since there are so many of you. Call on the name of Baal from morning till noon. “O Baal, answer us!” they shouted. But there was no response; no one answered. And they danced around the altar they had made. (NIV) The prophet Elijah had a showdown between the God of Heaven and the priests of Baal. They tried to get a response from their god, but no response came when they cried out to him. Therefore, they thought that if they danced for him, he would hear their pleas.

 

Today, there is a worship to Baal through the sales of demonic music and videos. A lot of the music that is on the market promotes sex, lust, disrespect towards authority, degradation of women, and more. Many artists have literally sold their souls to the devil for the sake of fame and fortune. Even some music labeled as “Christian” is not of a holy anointing from the Lord, but a compromised version from the pits of hell. Artists like Beyonce, Madonna, and Rihanna entertain men and women by showing their bodies, dancing on poles, and indulging the flesh. They are just a few examples of those who are dancing to the tune of Baal.

d.)    The worship of Baal involved the spilling of blood.

 1 Kings 18:27-28 At noon Elijah began to taunt them. “Shout louder!” he said. “Surely he is a god! Perhaps he is deep in thought, or busy, or traveling. Maybe he is sleeping and must be awakened.” So they shouted louder and slashed themselves with swords and spears, as was their custom until their blood flowed. (NIV) The priests of Baal cut themselves to spill blood as part of their demonic ritual. However, God never required that we spill our own blood because He sent Jesus to die in our place and through His blood, we are saved. Hebrews 9:22 In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness. (NIV) The shedding of blood first came from the sacrifice of animals, but after Jesus died, that was no longer needed because His blood had paid our debt.

 

The world is full of violence, which often spills over to the shedding of innocent blood. There is killing in the streets by rival gangs, terrorists blowing themselves and others up in the name of Allah, domestic violence taking place in many homes, and murder just for the sake of something to do. Blood is being spilled in all parts of the world and this is all part of Baal worship. The devil aims to kill, steal and destroy. In the very beginning he did the with Cain and Abel. Genesis 3:8 Now Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let’s go out to the field.” And while they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother Abel and killed him. (NIV) Evil men are spilling blood everywhere across the planet and therefore, giving worship to Baal.

 

            So this lets us know that Baal is already in the hearts of man rather erected in the natural or within their hearts and minds. Man is always thinking of something evil to do and this is why man was destroyed during time of Noah. Genesis 6:5 The Lord saw how great man’s wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. (NIV) However, we are to have the mind of Christ and not bow down to wilds of the enemy. When we are in Christ, we cannot be like the world, but we are to represent Christ in all things. Philippians 2:5 Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus. (NIV) We do not submit to idols, but we submit to Jesus as the King of kings and Lord of lords. We must pray for this world that we be a light in the darkness by allowing Christ to overflow in all areas of our mind. The temple of Baal may not be erected in the natural, but let’s pray for the Salvation of those who have erected it in the hearts and minds of men.

Prophets: Prophesying or Profit Lying

Matthew 7:15-16 “Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them…(NIV)

            Recently, there was internet and YouTube buzz concerning a well-known prophet, Brian Carn, who allegedly had been busted plagiarizing a prophecy, that he claimed came from God. Unfortunately, it seems that the so-called prophecy’s origin was derived from psychic, Cheryl Lynn, who gave predictions in February 2014 concerning events to take place in 2015. Brian Carn’s “prophecy” was given on New Year’s Eve of that same year. The person who exposed the alleged fraud is insignificant, but what is of great relevance is how Brian Carn is standing by this so-called prophecy that seemingly was not a prophecy at all, but plagiarism from demonic sources. What is simply amazing is that there are other pastors and prophets, such as Jamal Bryant, who have done YouTube videos to stand by him in what seems to be falsehood, while rebuking those who dare to raise concern in regards to the sincerity of his prophetic role. In an attempt to scare people into silence, Brian Carn has also condemned those who exposed the verbatim prophecy and questioned him. Nevertheless, the body of Christ needs to know that there is no cause to fear for the Bible gives the foundation concerning the test of a true prophet. Deuteronomy 18:21-22 You may say to yourselves, “How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the Lord?” If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him.

            Whenever there is a question in regards to a prophetic word given, the prophet giving the word is not to rebuke those who have good reason to raise concerns. Instead, that prophet should be able to substantiate the word given by taking those in question to the word of God. Acts 17:11 Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true. (NIV) The New Testament Church searched the scripture to ensure that Paul was teaching them sound doctrine. Never does the Bible say that Paul rebuked them for double-checking his teachings. In fact, the Bible teaches that we should be able to give an account for what we believe. 1 Peter 3:15 But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. (NIV) Therefore, based upon this text, Christians have a right to raise questions to a prophet who claims to have received a word from the Lord, after finding out that the same prophecy was coincided with a reading of a psychic verbatim.

            There are many false prophets in the world today who are using God’s word for their own financial gain. They tell the people that they had dreams and visions given to them by God, encouraging the congregations to plant seeds of $200, $500, $1000 and even more, when God has never had a prophet in the Bible to charge people for a prophecy. Jeremiah 14:14 Then the Lord said to me, “The prophets are prophesying lies in my name. I have not sent them or appointed them or spoken to them. They are prophesying to you false visions, divinations, idolatries and the delusions of their own minds. (NIV) An example of this was when Naaman the leper offered to give the prophet Elisha gifts after he was healed from his disease. However, Elisha refused to accept anything from him, for he did not want payment for what God had done. 2 Kings 5:15-16 Then Naaman and all his attendants went back to the man of God. He stood before him and said, “Now I know that there is no God in all the world except in Israel. Please accept now a gift from your servant.” The prophet answered, “As surely as the Lord lives, whom I serve, I will not accept a thing.” And even though Naaman urged him, he refused. (NIV)

            These false prophets have no fear of God and are only ruled by their greed for money. However, the Bible has plenty to say about these types of leaders. God, in His disgust, called them greedy dogs. Isaiah 56:10-11 Israel’s watchmen are blind, they all lack knowledge; they are all mute dogs, they cannot bark; they lie around and dream, they love to sleep. They are dogs with mighty appetites, they never have enough. They are shepherds who lack understanding; they all turn to their own way, each seeks his own gain. (NIV) They pimp God’s people for money, fail to teach them the truth by mixing it with error, and deceive the masses by their eloquent words, emotional music, and high energy, feel-good sermons. Even when a prophet has been proven to be false, the people turn a blind eye in their attempt to have their ears tickled by more lies. 2 Timothy 4:3-4 For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths. (NIV)

            However, God’s true church will not be deceived by false leaders. They will stand up boldly when they hear the voice of God and denounce such falsehoods. Peace in the Body of Christ

Titus 3:9-10 But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about the law, because these are unprofitable and useless. Warn a divisive person once; and then warn him a second time. After that, have nothing to do with him. (NIV)

               The body of Christ is to be the light for the world to see amidst darkness. Unfortunately, there are many within the body of Christ who are in constant conflict and chaos. It’s not that they are in conflict with the world, as it wouldn’t be surprising if they were, but the conflict exists within the members themselves. There is arguing, feuding, politicking for positions, and all other sorts a mayhem taking place in the Lord’s House. Many may wonder, “Why is it that more souls are not coming to Christ?” Could it be that the lost is seeing that the church is acting no better than they are? Ephesians 4:29-32 ⁽²⁹⁾Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. ⁽³⁰⁾And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. ⁽³¹⁾Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. ^(32)-Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. (NIV) Many souls have left the body of Christ due to gossip, slander, and a spirit of jealousy. This has made many experience “church hurt” and some have vowed never to step foot into a house of worship again.

 

 

               However, the Bible has given us guidelines to follow in order to deal with differences with our fellow brothers and sisters. Matthew 18:15-18 ⁽¹⁵⁾”If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. ⁽¹⁶⁾But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that ‘every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.’ ⁽¹⁷⁾If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen to them, treat him as you would a pagan or tax collector. ⁽¹⁸⁾ “I tell you the truth, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” (NIV) God ordained a method of reconciliation with a person with whom may have a grievance against you. If we follow the guidelines set forth in the Word of God, we can be sure to have more peace in our relationships with each other, being members within the Body of Christ, as well as those outside of the fold.

               Many people of faith have fallen out with regards to doctrinal differences as well. Some of the bloodiest battles in history have been over religion. Nevertheless, there are some issues that the Bible clearly states is right and wrong, and others where God’s guidance individually is warranted. Romans 14:1-3 ⁽¹⁾Accept him whose faith is weak without passing judgment on disputable matters. ⁽²⁾One man’s faith allows him to eat everything, but another man, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables. ⁽³⁾The man who eats everything must not look down on him who does not, and the man who does not eat everything must not condemn the man who does for God accepted him. (NIV) The text lets us know that we are not to judge others on issues of conscious. This is not to excuse SIN.  However, there are commands in the Bible that God has said is an absolute transgression against Him, while there others that are to be personalized as God leads YOU. Galatians 5:19-21 ⁽¹⁹⁾The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, and debauchery; ⁽²⁰⁾idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions factions ⁽²¹⁾and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. (NIV)

 

               Instead of division and quarrels with our brothers and sisters, we are to be in peace with all people because God is not the author of confusion. 1 Corinthians 14:33 For God is not a God of disorder but of peace….(NIV) The devil is the one who likes to stir up dissent and conflict in the world, but God is the giver of peace and this is why He is called Jehovah Shalom, Lord our Peace. The Apostle Paul made an appeal to the church in his day to stop the quarreling with regards to whom they followed, but to be united as one in Christ.  1 Corinthians 1:10-13 ⁽¹⁰⁾I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought. ⁽¹¹⁾My brothers, some from Chloe’s household have informed me that there are quarrels among you. ⁽¹²⁾What I mean is this: One of you says, “I follow Paul”; another, “I follow Cephas”; still another, “I follow Christ.” ⁽¹³⁾Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? were you baptized into the name of Paul? (NIV) We serve one God and that is Jehovah Shalom who reigns above. In order to worship Jehovah Shalom in spirit and in truth as He requires that we love our fellow brothers and sisters. John 4:23-24 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth. (NIV)

Proverbs 21:9 Better to live on a corner of the roof than share a house with a quarrelsome wife. (NIV)

               The family is under demonic attack all across the world. Things that were once considered as immoral and ungodly are now being embraced, celebrated, and endorsed. To raise a family with Christian values, as outlined in the Word of God, is now being looked upon as bigotry and discriminatory. To have traditional male and female roles, the embracement of your God-given gender, and to celebrate masculinity for men and femininity for women is looked upon as sexist, in an effort to have gender neutrality and erase what God established. The world has decided that it knows what’s best for its own survival and therefore, the selfish ambition of personal satisfaction outweighs obedience to God. Instead of God’s original design for a man and woman to marry and raise a family, the United States, as well as other nations, have decided to undo what God himself ordained. Genesis 2:21-25 ⁽²¹⁾ So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and closed up the place with flesh. ⁽²²⁾Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. ⁽²³⁾The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called woman, for she was taken out of man.” ⁽²⁴⁾For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh. ⁽²⁵⁾The man and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame. (NIV)

 

               June 26, 2015 marked the date of the United States Supreme Court’s landmark decision to allow same-sex marriage in all fifty states. What God ordained between one man and one woman, on that day, was officially perverted through our legal system in an attempt to be politically correct. That was a day of sorrow for those who believe and obey the true God. To watch a nation, follow the same evil ways of Sodom and Gomorrah was heartbreaking to say the least. Most important, to know that instead of peace, God’s judgment is coming down upon the land of America, as a result of its sins, is remarkably disturbing.

               Not only is there sin, which disrupts the peace of Jehovah Shalom, with regards to homosexuality in the nation, but fornication, pornography, x-rated books and magazines, as well as adultery is on the rise. Many couples have decided that it is better to have what they consider as an “open” relationship rather than to remain faithful to each other. Nevertheless, the Bible lets us know that this type of behavior is wrong. Exodus 20:14 You shall not commit adultery. (NIV) Their need for excitement outweighs God’s ordinances. As a result, child and adult porn, premarital sex, erotic toys, swinging, and other sinful perversions are being entertained by many married couples and singles. The lack of peace in the family is an end result and Jehovah Shalom cannot bless what has become a mess unless there is a return to Him. Zechariah 1:3-4 Therefore tell the people: This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘Return to me,’ declares the Lord Almighty, ‘and I will return to you,’ says the Lord Almighty. Do not be like your forefathers, to whom the earlier prophets proclaimed: This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘Turn from your evil ways and your evil practices.’ But they would not listen or pay attention to me, declares the Lord. (NIV)

 

               Hollywood by way of movies, books and music has often been used to define what is right and wrong for families, but God has outlined in His word the guidelines for us to follow. The family was to consist of one man and women through which the earth would be populated. Genesis 1:28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number, fill the earth and subdue it. (NIV) When we do what is opposite of the will of God, we cause the breakdown of the unit. As a result, we miss out on the peace of Jehovah Shalom.

               The devil originally messed up the family unit, in the Garden of Eden, by deceiving the woman into thinking that she did not have to obey God, and he is still using the same tricks today to cause disruption in the family today. Genesis 3:2-5 ⁽²⁾The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, ⁽³⁾but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’ ” ⁽⁴⁾’You will not surely die,” the serpent said to the woman. ⁽⁵⁾”For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” (NIV)  The devil has decided to make man go against everything that God has ordained and for those who dare to stand boldly for Godly principles, they are considered as bigots and accused of being involved in the practice of discrimination. Nevertheless, we as disciples of Christ must not bow to ungodly practices. This is not only for the married, but for singles too.

               The world says to test the waters and that it is okay to live together prior to saying, “I do,” but God has called fornication sin. We cannot enter the kingdom of Heaven with sin in our lives. 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 ⁽¹⁸⁾Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. ⁽¹⁹⁾Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; ⁽²⁰⁾you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body. (NIV) We as God-fearing believers are not to live in accordance to the world’s standards, but we are to abide by the laws of the Lord. Romans 12:2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will. (NIV)

 

               It was always Jehovah Shalom’s will that we have peace in our world, but when sin entered in, it disrupted that plan for peace. As a result, we have a world full of wickedness. Nevertheless, Jehovah Shalom give us as believers guidelines to follow in accordance to His will, so that we may have order in our lives. If we follow these guidelines, we will experience peace despite the challenges that are present in the world today. Deuteronomy 11:1 Love the Lord your God and keep his requirements, his decrees, his laws and his commands always. (NIV)

               Many singles have failed to ask God’s wisdom prior to walking down the aisle. They have found themselves to be in love with the “idea” of being in love. As a result, many marriages end in divorce and the family unit is then forever torn apart. Peace is replaced by bickering and fighting and children are often the victims by being caught in the middle. The Bible, however, lets us know that we are to not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. 2 Corinthians 6:14-15 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? (NIV) This does not just mean religion, but it also means those who profess to follow Christ, and yet, their walk is nothing more than mere lip service. Peace can never exist in a home that is divided and Jehovah Shalom’s peace cannot reside in a home of chaos. Mark 3:24-25 If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. (NIV)

 

               Singles should always consult God prior to entering into any relationship in order to seek His guidance and wisdom to avoid heartaches in the future. Many couples have found themselves asking for God’s help after the fact, but if they had sought it prior to making a decision, He would have given them the answers that they needed. Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. (NIV) Jehovah Shalom, being the God of peace, desires for us to have every aspect of Him encircled in our lives. He is the lover of our souls and in following Him, we can receive the peace that only can be given by Him. Psalm 85:8 I will listen to what God the Lord will say; he promises peace to his people, his saints – but let them not return to folly. (NIV)

 

               As part of having peace in the family unit, Jehovah Shalom has given instructions in His word to raise children upright in the ways of Him. Proverbs 22:6 Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it. (NIV) Children must be taught what is right and wrong, but they can only learn if the parents are doing what is right themselves. Parents have to be a role model for their children. They should see a Godly life being displayed before them, so that they can pattern themselves accordingly. The first example of God that most children will see is what is shown to them from their own parents. Deuteronomy 11:18-21 ⁽¹⁸⁾Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. ⁽¹⁹⁾Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. ⁽²⁰⁾Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates, ⁽²¹⁾so that your days and the days of your children may be many in the land that the Lord swore to give your forefathers, as many as the days that the heavens are above the earth. (NIV) The nation has gotten away from the family unit and much of the disturbances that we see in society such as murder, thefts, assault, and other crimes leading to an increase in the prison population is a result of the lack of Jehovah Shalom being in the home. Nevertheless, peace can be restored.

 

 

               The Bible lets us know that if we will humble ourselves before Jehovah Shalom, He will restore peace to our homes and as a result, restore our land because a peaceful nation is only as strong as its foundation, which is the family. That restoration is a promise that is conditional based upon obedience to Him. 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. (NIV) If there is a lack of peace in your home, pray to Jehovah Shalom who is the author of peace and allow Him to restore what is now broken.
